What is the function of the local school board?
The function of a local school board is to provide citizens supervision and control over education. Board members are not representatives. They are trustees who are entrusted with the education of ALL students in the district. The Board of trustees must work to serve the best interest of ALL students. Citizen input is essential, and the board listens to the concerns and suggestions as part of their decision-making process. A school board is a governmental body, and the responsibility of an individual board member is to study, evaluate, and deliberate the policy issues confronting the district, then to vote in the best interest of ALL students.
Who should have the authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula?

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
I think both school and parents are responsible for teaching sexual education to children. It is essential to provide the students with sexual educations at school because of the different family circumstances the students may have. I think 11-12 should be a good age for students to start sexual education.
