Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Incest, Rape, Human trafficking, underlying medical conditions, when respected doctors believe it is medically appropriate.
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
A good start is by not sending trillions of dollars to other countries for things that have little to no value to the U.S. Making people like Greta Thunberg happy because it seems popular with the world but doesn't actually help the U.S. If it makes sense do it sure but we need to take care of America first. Social Security funds should not be touched except for as they are designed to be. Guarantees should be put in place to ensure those funds are not tampered with.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
We need to get ourselves in order first and not be the world police. Issues exist all over the world and they are valid. Doesn't make the domestic issues we face less valid. "Gender issues in Pakistan". It's amazing to see that vague of a line in a major spending bill. Spending is occurring because it seems popular with the world. If we do not see direct benefit from it with should discontinue it. Once we have solved homelessness and hunger in the U.S. we can re-visit these other issues.
Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
(Did not answer)
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Pretty clear as worded. Government needs to stay out of church matters and pass no laws interfering with them just as the church should stay out of politics. I don't see this happening when I drive down St. Charles Ave and see posters hanging on churches which are clearly political in nature. Having said that religion should not be used as a false pretense to conduct business or other activity when in fact the true goal is something completely different.
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
If it isn't broke don't fix it. Private healthcare which exists for people such as my former employer of Microsoft should be left alone. The people are happy with it don't mess that up. If someone is below median income and cannot afford healthcare then options like Medicare and Medicaid make good sense. No one should be denied healthcare treatment. How the bill is paid is a complex issue. Overcharging, markups, and regulations all need to be reviewed and modified where appropriate.
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
Vetting measures to keep radical terrorists and those who enable them out of the United States of America Admit those into our country who will support our country and love deeply our people. Our country should not let in radicals who hate the United States. Our priority should be on the safety and employment of our citizens. We are a country of immigrants. Immigration is important but allowing extremists in and those who enable them is a serious threat to our national security. The people in my district given a choice between employment and catering to the whim of extremist I believe they would opt for food on the table and a roof over their head rather than make extremist happy with us. Furthermore all government officials who fail to honor their oath should be arrested charged and fired. This includes those who fail to work with DHS or other federal agencies. On this point this includes LEO's who do not honor citizens rights.
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
People who have presented themselves legally. Those who have a good cause to fear death, injury, or persecution if they return to their home nation. In extremely rare situations a person with advanced skills that was granted a visa. Case by case basis for many people. The H-1B visa program is out of control and is putting Americans out of work. This needs to be reined in and fast. Big tech received a free pass for H-1B visas only to use it to stomp on our constitutional rights. This needs to end now.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
As a child I was raised in the Episcopal Church. Later in life and I joined the Army I identified as non-denominational Christian and still do.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
My views are what makes sense from a factual perspective. Each issue should be looked at, understood, and debated. Facts matter. Currently the media is covering up many facts and suppressing information from the people. It's very difficult to consume news today in a non filtered manner, really takes a lot of effort. Social matters that relate to putting people in my district to work and making a living with a career not just a job I am more liberal. When it comes to national issues like big tech censorship and far-left hypocrisy I am no doubt conservative. I firmly believe that Democrat voters are being sold a false bill of goods by their leaders. Lies told just to win elections. More important I will work with all parties to pass legislation that makes sense for my district, he U.S., and the world.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I'm born and raised in the New Orleans area. Joined the Army at a young age then worked for big tech. Deeply care about the people of Louisiana and will work tirelessly for them. Put them back to work and re-open quickly. Protect vulnerable people and encourage people to get vaccines. Raise the technical level of people in my state and the nation. We will have a mobile office so we the people in my district can properly interact with my office from their home town or home street. Calls to my office will not go unanswered. For those technology challenged we will have tablets to do face to face meetings with people who cannot come to the mobile office due to pandemic. End big tech censorship. Ensure every legal vote counts and that the elections are trusted again.
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Guns should not be in the hands of drug dealers, gangs, and repeat felony offenders. Police should be arresting gang members who are involved in drug dealing and other crimes. Americans cannot depend upon the police to show up when a crime is in progress. Gun ownership, possession, and carry must be allowed by law abiding Americans.
I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
The Electoral College should be abolished.
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
I pledge to have at least 1 full time attorney on my staff and be active at authoring and sponsoring legislation. Covid-19 Pandemic economic plan. Follow the science and studies not myths or unknowns that were best guesses a year ago. We know now that most people recovered from Covid and those vaccinated do not spread the disease in general. This is scientific data studies not opinion. People should be able to opt-in for blood test to measure antibodies and be exempt from certain restrictions and allowed to return to work. Train people under employed or unemployed regardless if they qualify for unemployment. People need the skills to work remote or other skills where appropriate such as customer service much of which can be done online. Revise or pull protections given to big tech and end censorship. Currently they are censoring news that turns out to be factual. This is not a left or right issue. When harassment, libel, or censorship occurs they need to be held to account.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism is a threat from many angles. No one should be treated different based on race, no one! Orleans Parish has been under a federal consent decree for years now. They have much room for improvement. Many Orleans districts are doing well but the 8th District could be well served to go away and taken over by state police until they get their act together. Many LEO agencies in LA are in a similar place. LEO should be held to account. Antifa and other far left domestic terror groups need to be put in check. Extreme groups on far right and left need to be dealt with. We are seeing race used to bait incidents and used to manipulate. Accusing people of racism when there is none only hurts those who are actually victimized. Police shootings need to be investigated correctly. Burning buildings down before facts are known throwing out the race card only hurts the situation.
