Questionnaire

Please note: Responses are entered electronically by the candidate and are listed verbatim.

Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

It should be 100% abolished in Texas.

Economy

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I would absolutely find the waste first and foremost. The Texas government has .25 (cents) waste for every dollar. That is 1/4 of the budget that is wasted. Secondly, I would go after creating additional revenue streams - e.g. by creating jobs such as manufacturing in Texas.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It means that the church cannot publicly endorse a political official or candidate. It means that the church cannot get politically involved, quite frankly, because it has access to a wide spectrum of people capable of turning the tide on political agendas.

Healthcare

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I believe in a free market health care structure - where the market dictates what health care policies are worth based on competition and what health care providers can provide in terms of services for insured and uninsured Texans. The government rules and stipulations based on what healthcare they can provide based on the patients insurance should be removed. In addition, I would propose replacing our Fee For Service System (FFS) of healthcare system that is failing us due to the challenges embedded in treating chronic illnesses like diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney dialysis, obesity, along with other diseases and prevention that must be continually managed over long periods of time. The Mayo Clinic's Integrated Delivery System (IDS) is an example of a positive alternative. An IDS is a coordinated system formed by physician groups and hospitals to increase efficiency and reduce redundancies by offering a broad range of healthcare services.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

Immigration

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Those who seek employment and job opportunities, should be allowed to immigrate to the US as long as they go through the proper procedures and take an Oath to the United States of America.

Education

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Values

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Promotion of the LGBT agenda in public schools, including teaching of “sexual orientation” and “gender identity”, is completely inappropriate and should be opposed at the state and local level.

Strongly Agree

I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a son of the living most high God. I have been called to build His Kingdom through my business experience and servitude of my communities. I believe in abolishing dishonesty and abortion, solving crushing property taxes, putting God back in our schools, and giving law abiding citizens the freedom of constitutional carry.

Qualifications

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

First of all, I am a Republican. I am also a small business owner of Old Boot Factory and its 12 retail stores as well as Nocona Coffee. Websites are oldbootfactory.com and noconacoffee.com. I personally fund and operate a Food Bank called Hope 29:11 going on 3.5 years now. I have completed Technology installs for over 300+ Church Sanctuaries. My campaign website is craigcarterfortexas.com. My Top Priority Issues are: Provide our students & teachers with the tools they need to succeed. Grow our economy & spur new job creation. Implement serious property tax reforms that protect homeowners. Protect the lives of unborn children. Defend the 2nd Amendment rights of gun owning Texans.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I am a self-made businessman. I worked hard coming from nothing to now owning a large and iconic Old Nocona Boot Factory (which I saved from the wrecking ball and revitalized), 12 Old Boot Factory retail stores all over DFW, a Food Bank called Hope 29:11 that I personally fund and operate going on 3.5 years, and creating over 100 jobs since I started in Nocona, TX from 2016-2020. I know the struggles my rural district is facing and I have strategic solutions. I also have a strong background in residential and commercial properties from buying and selling to having increased property tax issues (as we all are facing) and know that this issue must be resolved now. Suffice to say, I am committed to creating jobs and making sure my district has the resources it needs to thrive.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am a businessman, not a politician. My keen business strategy is achieving maximum results using what I already have around me. That means very little waste. I believe in Godly principles and operate my companies on those same beliefs and values. I have a servants heart for my community and my district. I have already created 100 jobs in less than 3 years. Imagine how many jobs we could create for Senate District 30 in the next several years. Texas has the 10th strongest economy in the world, we cannot let the pandemic take us off that path. I would appreciate your vote, and if you have already voted for me, thank you.

Judicial Philosophy

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2nd Amendment

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None. We need to un-restrict the rights of gun-owning, law abiding citizens.

Other Important Issues

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1. Property Tax Reform 2.Police and Teacher Pay Increases 3. Constitutional Carry 4. Abolition of Abortion in Texas

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is not the threat, it is terrorist-like groups with large funding that is the issue. We have to criminalize these acts of violence.
