Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

No Answer

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

First and foremost abortion not be used as a contraception. I support increased access to contraceptives, birth control and adoption. I fully support a woman’s right to choose as the law allows. As a nation that values the sanctity of life, we must recognize the fundamental human rights of the unborn child during the third trimester, when a pregnancy is viable outside of the womb.

Economy

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

Entitlement programs like Social Security are at risk of running out of money. Fiscally as a nation, we need to address the issues today with an aging "baby boomer" population that is set to retire over the next 10 years. The system is fraught with corruption and loopholes that need to be addressed, plugged, and ultimately reformed in order to ensure these benefits remain intact for future generations.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

There is a tremondous amount of out of control spending at all levels of the government. If meaningful reform is to happen, we can easily cut 10% across the board through various reductions. Continue economic growth that increases the tax base and full employment as it was pre-Covid-19, the increased tax revenue would be able to reduce the deficit by a great amount.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

None. However, since the federal government has taken over the issuance and admistration of Student Loans, interest rate reform needs to be implimented immediately to impact the short term and long term financial hardship student loans present. There is no reason for a student loan interest rate to be 6% when you can buy a house at a 3% interest rate.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The government shouldn't back any one religion over others. It does not outlaw religion, rather government is there to protect the 1st Amendment freedom of all religions.

Healthcare

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Agree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Before any coverage is discussed, we must address the broken healthcare system as it stands today. We need more transparency, access, and free-market competition that will drive the costs down. For too long Hosipitals and insurance companies have worked together to create the high cost of healthcare we know today rather than being transparent with costs and itemized bills. Furthermore, the Affordable Care Act is a disaster that is crumbling from it's own weight, having increased cost of care, plans, and prescription drugs. We must reform the systemic issues, create transparency so we the people know what we are paying for, and bring forth a new plan that will foster competition to drive the costs down and allow insurance companies to work outside of state borders. The current system is unsustainable and continually increases year after year. For those that cannot afford healthcare, those needs would be addressed through medicare or medicade.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

We need to continue to develop partnership with countries in the middle-east ensuring they have the ability to take and manage the fight radical Islamic terrorism. Continue to foster relationships and spearhead peace deals like Isreal and the UAE. Additionally, we should continue to work towards creating a NATO type alliance between Isreal and the rest of the Middle East to foster Peace as well as manage Iranian funding of terrorism.

Immigration

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

People who want to come here and assimilate into our society and we should be looking for the worlds best and brightest. The United States has and always will provide refugee status for those in need. Additionally, the United States has been the most welcoming contry in the world year after year.

Education

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Values

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Growing up, I spent my entire educational experience in Catholic Schooling. I was baptised Catholic, practice Christianity, and I was an altar-boy throughout Middle School. I draw my strong moral and ethical beliefs from everything that was instilled in me as I attended Mass and learned about Christianity throughout all my years. I apply those teachings in every endeavor I embark on and hold myself to very high legal, moral, and ethical standards with high integrity and accountability.

NO

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

Jonathan is running for Congress, because now, more than ever, we need a congressman who is committed to “moving the ball down the field” and actually accomplishing something for the people in our communities. Jonathan believes that it’s time we have a congressman who is more committed to the ones he represents than he is to his TV ratings. Jonathan won’t waste your time chasing "answers" in endless partisan investigations; he will role up his sleeves and will proactively fight for you. As your congressman, Jonathan will be accountable to YOU, not to national party politics or special interest groups. Join Jonathan in this fight, and we’ll get the job done, together.

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2nd Amendment

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I support the Second Amendment and sale of firearms to responsible, trained, and law-abiding citizens. I believe in increased and more stringent federal background checks and mental health screenings and I also support the ban of high capacity magazines.

Other Important Issues

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Agree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1. School Choice/Block Grants for Eduction 2. Healthcare Reform 3. Job Creation

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

When you look at the security internally in the United States, the threat it is strictly coming from leftist organizations such as Antifa and Black Lives Matter and the violence is strictly happening in Democrat cities which have been run by Democrats for more than 60 years. As I stated on my website, I believe one of the last forms of Institutional Racism is our inner-city school districts, which have also been run by Democrats for over 50 years. It is a generational danger to have poorly run inner-city schools.
