Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I support my church's position, the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, which states,"Abortion is contrary to God's Word and "is not a moral option, except as a tragically unavoidable byproduct of medical procedures necessary to prevent the death of another human being, viz., the mother" (1979 Res. 3-02A).

Unlike the federal government, Kansas law requires the State to balance it's budget every year. I will carefully look for ways to balance the budget each year as required.
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Because I am running for State Representative, Kansas House District 71, I will listen to the concerns of my constituents before voting on any legislation concerning healthcare coverage. Health care is a monstrosity of an issue, and I do not claim to have all the answers for how to ensure coverage that is adequate, affordable, and accessible to all.

I believe government should be limited, and that good governance is best done at the local level, closest to the people. That is why I especially support the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which states,“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.”
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I am a teacher and cross-country coach where I teach humanities to Grade 5 students. My wife and I have owned and operated a business for the past thirteen years. When I am not working, I enjoy serving as an Elder at Christ the King Lutheran Church and coaching youth sports. I currently serve as a Republican Committeeman, am a member of the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce, and have served on community boards including Salina Downtown, Inc. and the Salina Childcare Association. After earning a Bachelor of Science from Kansas State University, I served Kansans by working on the official staff of two Congressmen on Capitol Hill and in Salina (Jerry Moran 2003-2010; Tim Huelskamp 2011-2017).
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am a pro-life conservative Republican that wants to see a better future for our children and grandchildren. I support limited government, living within our means and I support gun ownership as protected by the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution. It is my desire to be a servant leader for the people of the 71st Kansas House District. I look forward to running a positive campaign that listens, encourages civility, and promotes a stronger Salina and Saline County.
