Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Protection of mother's life. Adoption should be a consideration for rape or incest.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Each department/agency of the Arizona government should undertake a forensic audit, uncovering and correcting all waste and redundancy in the particular agency/department, and that of other departments. Bloated, under-serving, under-performing agencies with high overhead, and top heavy administration should be streamlined, to better ensure the dollars appropriated actually reach the intended target. The "spend it or lose it" attitude of department heads and agencies need to be corrected.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The term "separation of church and state" cannot be discovered in any founding documents of the United States. Contrary to historical revisionists, our founders were not godless atheists and deists. They in fact borrowed heavily from biblical scriptures, values and morals in the creation of this union. Ensuring that each person could worship as they saw fit, and that no form of institutionalized religion would control the government, as King James of England had. For over 233 years no religion has controlled government. However, recent government action is limiting businesses, and individuals from practicing and adhering to their personal religious beliefs, in an effort to force conformity to a totally secular society.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Allow private insurance providers to fairly compete across state lines. Ensure apple to apple comparison of costs and coverage. Options for purchasers (private and business) to select coverage needed and desired, and provisions for insurance purchasers to opt out of non-needed coverage. Tax incentives for businesses and private purchasers who purchase insurance. No mandates, fees, additional taxes or penalties for non purchasers.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Immigration to the United States is a privilege extended to foreign nationals. It is not a right of any sort. United States is sovereign and has the right to establish procedures, criteria and numbers of people eligible for immigration to the United States; with the presumption the immigrants want to become assimilated to American culture, values and eventually citizens. Immigration criteria should be based on the needs of the nation, and specifically on a merit system. Not a lottery or relationship status. Immigrants should be allowed and encouraged insofar as they want and have the ability to become a productive asset to America, and not a burden to the taxpayer or criminal justice system.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Non-denominational Christian, with strong belief in the biblical scriptures.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Life-long registered Republican, filed, qualified and campaigning for Arizona Legislative District 7 Representative as a (rural conservative) Republican.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I served a 25 year military career in both the US Army and US Coast Guard with increasing scope of leadership and management responsibilities. Listening to community members, I have initiated, created and led various organizations, committees and boards for the betterment of the communities I lived in and served. Sought and achieved specific education and training for the mission or circumstances at hand, that required more in-depth education or training. Ultimately, it is a passion to see that my fellow citizen's rights and abilities to achieve their goals are met, and not interfered with by nuisance government regulations or impediments; the communities for which I serve receive the necessary, just and right government support and assistance as required by law.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I'm running for Arizona Representative LD 7, to fill the void of our current elected officials who have vacated their responsibility and repeated failure to engage with, and represent all citizens of Legislative District 7; to bring the rural conservative values, goals and aspirations of rural and small town Arizona, and vastly rural district to the metro-centric Arizona legislature; to ensure the infrastructure, funding and leadership is available to bring prosperity to under-served communities to include the Navajo Nation and six other Native American tribes, capitalizing on the strength and natural resources of the district; to place a check on onerousness, burdensome and prosperity robbing regulations, taxes and officials; to encourage and support expanded education and vocational training on a regional basis to Northeast Arizona.

Judicial Philosophy

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2nd Amendment

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Public safety will not be protected any further by adding another law to the over 20,000 firearm restrictive laws currently in place. The firearm is but the tool of evil-doers. Safety of the public is better served through the proper use, carriage and understanding for firearms, as was once taught in public schools. Ultimately, public safety is better ensured by strengthening social and family core values. Gun violence is a reflection of social ills, not access to firearms or the lawful use.

Other Important Issues

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

iVoterGuide Note:  After survey deadline, candidate notified that his intended answer was, "Disagree."

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1. Legislation for the exploration and development of natural resources within LD 7 and NE Arizona, to include helium drilling and forestry biomass reduction, for conversion to fuel and/or wood products. 2. Legislation to study the feasibility of ensuring smaller, more responsive and effective, less expensive local county government by creating Arizona's 16th county through a division of Apache and Navajo Counties. 3. Legislation for the development the Northeast Arizona Regional Vocational and Industrial Arts College; serving not only Arizona, but that of the greater Southwest. A collaboration of commercial enterprise, state government and the Navajo Nation.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is a threat to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness of all individuals. Institutional racism has largely been eliminated, yet there are pockets of hold-over closet racists, that damage relations between all peoples. However, there are far greater threats to 'domestic security' than racism of any brand or flavor. Socio/economics, political divisions, domestic terror, and liberty depriving/restrictive government action are far more threatening to domestic security.
