Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Disagree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Disagree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Neutral

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I am pro-choice. I believe a woman has the right to her own body and has the right to choose. Abortion is never an easy decision but should never be used as a form of birth control. Another option that should be considered is adoption. Many couples who cannot have children because of various medical reasons would welcome an adopted child to their family.

Economy

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Neutral

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

We are on the pace of Social Security being depleted by 2034. What we can do is get rid of the earnings cap and keep the 12.4 percent payroll tax rate. The wealthy would be taxed at a higher rate who are generally paying a small proportion of their income into Social Security. Near an estimated $100 billion more in taxes would close the current funding gap and keep Social Security viable for the future.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I believe that we should reduce the cost of war. Reductions in defense spending by five percent can save $250 billion. Since 2001 we have spent 5.1 trillion of taxpayers’ dollars to war mainly in Afghanistan. I would also review government agencies to see if reductions can be made. Over time we would be able to balance the budget.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

Taxpayers should not need to help pay off any existing student loan. I think the focus should be on student loan forgiveness. Too many students are paying their loans years after they graduate college. I would support legislation that would reduce student loans to make payment more affordable. In the future I would hope schools will have free tuition, so student debt is a thing of the past.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Neutral

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Disagree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

To me this means that our government should not have a say on what you believe in or who you pray to.

Healthcare

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Agree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Agree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

It is time for our country to switch over to Medicare-for-All. At the time of this survey we are being overwhelmed with COVID-19 cases. Lives are at stake. People are losing their jobs and with it their health insurance. Medicare-for-All will cover everyone, and it will save lives and prepare us in case we deal with another pandemic. The way we make this affordable is stop spending taxpayer’s money on regime change wars. Currently in Afghanistan we are spending four billion dollars a month on a war with no ending in sight. I would reallocate that money and put it towards Medicare-for-All, green energy and education.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Disagree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Eliminating all forms of terrorism is important for the safety of our citizens. I would work with NATO to create plans to defend against terror plots. We must have cooperation with our allies to be successful.

Immigration

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Disagree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Neutral

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Disagree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Neutral

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Anyone that meets the minimum age requirement should have the right to apply for citizenship to the United States. Circumstances can vary but I believe that many people come to America for the opportunity of a better life. We should not deny that dream.

Education

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Agree

Values

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Disagree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in family time and spending it with loved ones. Be kind and help others in times of need.

Qualifications

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Somewhat Liberal

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I do consider myself somewhat liberal but more of a progressive independent candidate. If elected I will support legislation to implement Medicare-For-All, End regime change wars and enforce strict campaign finance reform. Our country is facing a pandemic. More than ever our country needs Medicare-For-All. It is estimated we would save over $450 billion annually while preventing over 60,000 deaths. Universal health coverage should be a right and affordable. Unnecessary wars need to end. Putting our soldiers in harm's way and risking their lives is not worth it. We continue to spend four billion dollars a month in Afghanistan. That adds up to $48 billion a year. We should make war a last resort and reallocate the money spent and put it towards healthcare, education and clean energy. We need to stop big money in politics. Eliminate (PACs) Political Action Committees and set limits on contributions. Just because you raise lots of money does not make you the best candidate for the job.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No, I have never been convicted of any felony and have never been penalized for any sexual misconduct.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

To the voters who are reading this from my district I am asking you for your support. My campaign is a grassroots effort and does not accept any contributions and is self-funded. I want to send a message to the establishment that just because you raise the most money does not make you the best candidate for the job. I have no political ties and is not bought by a political party or the special interests. Therefore, I run as an Independent candidate. My candidacy is about three words: Truth, Vision, Hope. In 2020 we need that more than ever in our elected officials. Please join me and support Kenneth J. Cody for Congress!

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2nd Amendment

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I agree what my home state of New Jersey has done in regard to restrictions on guns. It starts with strict background checks and by banning assault rifles. By doing this we can reduce the number of fatalities due to gun violence.

Other Important Issues

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Neutral

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Agree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Agree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Agree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Medicare-For-All, Ending Regime Change Wars and Campaign Finance Reform.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I hope it does not. Interaction between communities can help put a stop to racism. It does not matter what race or religion you are we need to learn more about each other. By doing this we can understand each other better and I believe this will reduce any threat to domestic security across our country.
