Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Neutral

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

No Answer

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I’ am a firm believer that abstaining from sex before marriage is the best. During the first trimester a woman should be allowed to have an abortion, if we did not allow for that we would go back in time when women would seek means of ending a pregnancy in various ways. In the case of rape/incest we must look at the best interest of the woman and how she goes forward with her life.

Economy

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Preserving and defending the Taxpayer Bill of Rights, in Colorado the 2020 state budget was initially set at $33 billion. One third of the budget was set aside for education, one third for social programs and the last third for all other government expenditures. Reducing the overall expenditures in social programs such as planned parenthood, stop support to illegal aliens would be my top priority. Unlike the federal government, state government cannot print its own currency.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Many pastors and clergy members think they can’t cross the line into political issues affecting their congregation. Social activism should be expressed openly in our churches.

Healthcare

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I do not believe in socialism; the healthcare industry has been greatly impacted by trial lawyers and the courts. The affordable care act for the most part has destroyed our healthcare system as we knew it. I know of no hospital that will refuse service for emergency medical service. All we have to look at is how our veterans were receiving healthcare through the VA. President Trump has gone a long way to cleaning up the problems in the VA.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Agree

Immigration

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

I do not oppose immigration; the United States is a great nation we need people that are going to benefit our society. We do not owe the world a place for their welfare cases, a person coming to this country must show that they can stand on their own two feet provide for themselves and not rely on government welfare. No chain migration.

Education

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

Values

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was brought up as a Lutheran and believe in Jesus. I say a daily prayer and believe in the ten Commandments.

Qualifications

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I am a Yankee trader I passionately believe in free enterprise and capitalism. With the recent pandemic of Covid-19 we have seen how the WHO and China have effectively shut down a great US economy. We need to get our society back open; we need to limit the number of foreign workers that are not working in the farming industry. I do not oppose immigration; the United States is a great nation we need people that are going to benefit our society. We do not owe the world a place for their welfare cases, a person coming to this country must show that they can stand on their own two feet provide for themselves and not rely on government welfare. No chain migration.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have spent half of my life as a political activist. My profession for over 36 years was in the water utility industry, I have seen how regulations (and over regulations) impact the industry. As a political activist I have worked with legislators and elected officials to bring information to them. As a house district chairman, division leader, precinct leader I know party politics. The Taxpayer Bill of Rights (TABOR) has been instrumental in restraining government and ensuring that taxpayers maintain control over their hard-earned dollars. I fought hard to have it on the ballot and work with volunteers to protect TABOR from being gutted by ballot initiative CC in 2019 and I will continue to fight for taxpayers. Lifelong dedicated member of National Rifle Association, Golden Eagle leadership team. Long-standing member of the Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition, political activist actively worked on the 2013 recalls (John Morse).

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

The Taxpayer Bill of Rights(TABOR)I fought hard to have it on the ballot and work with volunteers to protect TABOR from being gutted by ballot initiative like CC in 2019 and I will continue to fight for taxpayers. Lifelong dedicated member of National Rifle Association, Golden Eagle leadership team. Long-standing member of the Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition, political activist actively worked on the 2013 recalls (John Morse). Lifelong collector/shooter of firearms. Firm believer in the right to life movement, our rights are given by our creator and not by our government. Therefore, we are free to live out our lives as we see fit not what someone in government thinks we need. “Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.” Government must prioritize tax dollars to pay for essentials, such as roads, first.Nothing is free, and the taxpayers should not be used to redistribute wealth. Please visit robert4hd17.com on how to donate to my campaign!

Judicial Philosophy

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2nd Amendment

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

A citizen’s right to self-protection must be maintained. I have been trained in the handling of firearms since childhood. The second amendment applies to the citizens right to protect oneself. Lifelong dedicated member of National Rifle Association, Golden Eagle leadership team. Long-standing member of the Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition, political activist actively worked on the 2013 recalls (John Morse).

Other Important Issues

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Mental health: Ease of access and affordability. Outreach to the citizens in the most need of help. Ensuring of veterans need of service. Transportation: Working with Colorado Springs and the legislature to fund projects in South East Colorado Springs. Highway 85/87 improvements. Education: Education vouchers having them transferable. Expansion of vocational/technical education.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Recognizing black lives matter while refusing to recognize blue lives matter is just wrong! The previous administration tried and, in some cases, succeeded in dividing our nation along racial lines.
