QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

There are certain pregnancies where the child is developing outside of the womb and is therefore endangering the mother’s life. Unfortunately, those pregnancies may have to be terminated. Abortion is a form of murder that has claimed the lives of over 62 million unborn children in the United States. In Roe v. Wade, the U.S. Supreme Court admitted: “If … personhood [for the unborn] is established, the appellant’s case, of course, collapses, for the fetus’ right to life is then guaranteed specifically by the [Fourteenth] Amendment…” It is now possible to see clearly that a pregnant mother has a small person forming inside of her. The crime, as I see it, is committed by the murderers, who for decades have profited from propagandizing abortion as a reasonable method of obtaining “Planned Parenthood.”

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

To me, “separation of church and state” is the catchphrase used to convince morally righteous people that they do not need to be involved in their government, and government people that they have no need for God. If our government is supposed to be “upon His shoulders,” then we as His body had better start moving together with Him as the head.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Agree

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I would do everything in my power to remove government programs and bureaucracies that adversely affect the citizens’ need and responsibility to care for their own health. By removing unnecessary government interference, I would encourage healthcare providers, insurance providers and charitable organizations to cooperate and/or compete to provide the best, most affordable and accessible care for people in all stages of life with their medical needs. Government should only be the last resort to provide a safety net for those most in need.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I would reduce the programs that would be better implemented by private citizens and their organizations. I would remove redundant and/or unnecessary bureaucracies. I would work to cut much of the costs associated with having 2 or 3 un-certifiable all-mail ballot election “seasons” per year.

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

The United States should have a merit-based immigration system that works to fill employment needs.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The Government must always be restricted from being the only ones with “legal” gun ownership. Our society is much safer when the people in government have a healthy respect for the sovereignty, the need, and the right of self-preservation of the individuals whom they serve in office. People who have been convicted of violent crimes have abdicated their right to own guns.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Neutral

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

I would consider my time in office successful if I can help Colorado’s citizens by working to do the following through legislation: 1. Reduce the costs of elections and ensure their integrity. 2. Reinforce TABOR 3. Repeal unconstitutional, unjust, and unnecessarily burdensome laws.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. While some racism does exist, the preponderance of claims of racism are exacerbated by a minority of individuals who would use it as a divisive wedge for their own political benefit.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

On my website, www.GovernmentOFthePeople.us, are many articles I have written in which I promote the conservation of our Republic as founded; One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. The answer to question 24, above, is a quote from under “PRAY” in my article THE GOP'S PURPOSE: 6 P'S.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I am the best qualified candidate to hold the office of Colorado State Senate in District 18, thanks to my 61 years of living, my love for learning, my passion for truth and liberty, and my ability to look at problems and circumstances in compassionate and unique ways. I have come to appreciate honest solution-seeking discussions with people whose views differ from mine. I have had leadership experience at many different levels within the Republican Party and have come to love the platform and purpose of the party. Although I do not always agree with every Republican, I agree that we are mostly together on the right side of the argument for American liberty. I have helped raise a family, start successful businesses, and renovate homes. I have traveled to most of the states and several countries. I have worked within healthcare, on a factory floor, in offices, in high-tech industries, in administration and as a business owner.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

Did not answer

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian. Therefore, I believe we are uniquely created, immensely loved and especially purposed superior creatures, with the capacity to accept the forgiveness offered by the Lord Jesus, to be filled by the Holy Spirit, and to be used in the body of Christ for the glory of the Most High God.
