Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Let me first say, that I never would have married a woman who thinks abortion is a way of birth control. However, I think that men have also a responsibility when they impregnate a woman. I think when a woman feels to be left alone when pregnant it is between her and her Creator, if she decides in the first weeks to have an abortion and not between me or her. Later, in particular late term abortion it is an issue between her and us as society. Then I would call it murder and prosecute it as murder.
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
First I would need to inform myself. Again promises and statements without knowing enough are meaningless. Furthermore, we live now in a time where things change so fast, that it is impossible to make promises one cannot keep. I am running because I am not a politician, so I decide after I am well informed.
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The State should not collect taxes for the church, as it happens in Germany. Otherwise I believe in the quote of John Adams: "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I don't make promises or talk about things I don't have enough information to provide a clear answer. So, when elected I would look for input from experts who don't have a financial interest in solutions. I have seen in Germany what is necessary to have a good health care system and saw the problems when people started to abuse it. You can only have a affordable and accessible health care system for all, when people start to feel responsible for their health and use it only when necessary. I have experienced that people signed up for health care insurance before they planned to have a child. After the child was born they cancelled the insurance. These are all issues one has to keep in mind.
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
People who are not a burden to the society here and contribute to society. When I grew up in Germany, and we talked about America, the next word was it is a "melting pot". When have you heard this the last time. Even the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, stated once, that Multiculturalism failed. Everybody who immigrates into another country must be willing to learn and speak the language as well as to be integrated into the culture. When it comes to real refugees, I think we could help them more by protecting and supporting them in a country which has the same cultural background, so that they can return into their homeland, when their safety can be guaranteed. Helping real refugees is a moral must. I never want to see again what happened to the Jews when they tried to escape from Hitler Germany and no one wanted to take them in.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe strongly in the Ten Commandments and that we will be judged by our Creator. I state also here what is important to me when elected: • Many politicians make promises during campaigns, they don’t know, if they can keep them. I will not do this, but promise only one thing. I will keep my oath of office and serve with honesty, integrity, and courage. • I have learned that it is very dangerous to keep someone forever in any elected office. You will be very careful what you decide, when you must live with your decisions when you leave the office. Therefore, I will fight that Colorado joins the Convention of States initiative for Term limits in Washington DC. • In any leadership position, I never asked others for anything I was not willing to do • In any leadership position, I started from the beginning on to look for people I could support and mentor to replace me. I intend to continue this practice.

See my webpage hochheimer4senate.com and ask people who know me.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
Integrity, honesty, and courage, elected leadership positions in the science community, common sense, trained to solve problems, despise band aid approaches to solve problems and look for the root of a problem. Will tell the people what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. Willingness to change, if someone proves me wrong by facts not beliefs and feelings. I have taught and researched in many countries on three continents and learned many lessons there. I despise lying and have experienced that you can take advantage of others for a while, but not forever before it backfires. I was the first American after 20 years who was allowed to work at Bhabha Atomic Research Center in Mumbai, India, because people trusted me. This was also corroborated by the hundreds of papers and proposals I was asked to referee, as well as the many recommendation letters I had to write for students and promotions of colleagues.

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Serious checks about mental illness or criminal records.
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
The Electoral College should be abolished.
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
Taxes, Education, and Health However, most important to prevent any regulations and bills which gives government the power to control every aspect of our lives,as well as to think of the long term consequences of bills. Heed what already the Roman philosopher Cicero stated: "The more laws, the less justice."
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
When I experience how the word is used nowadays by those who claim they would fight for the abolishment of racism, I would say yes. I know human nature quite well, there are racists in any society. You cannot get rid of them by prosecuting them. You have to try to convince them or prosecute them severely when they commit a criminal act.
