Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

If a woman chooses to have an abortion it is her personal decision.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

It's not about decreasing spending so much as it's increasing the fiscal responsibility of the wealthy and corporations. Everyone must pay their fair share.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Disagree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It means the church is legally required to stay out of politics.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Agree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I would like to see health care delivered in neighborhoods by using elementary schools as community health centers. I believe healthcare is a human right and should be paid for through a public option.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Disagree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

We are a country of immigrants. Immigrants enrich our Democracy. Any person or family who wants a life in America and wants to become an American citizen should be welcome.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

We are all connected as humanity and all humans are equal.Kindness is the currency of an advanced civilization.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I do not believe in defunding the police, I believe there is room for reforming the police. Not all situations require an armed response. I believe taxes should be based on a sliding scale so that the wealthy pay their fair share.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I'm a former teacher who has managed situations, make thousands of decisions in every moment and am suited to seek agreement between disagreeing parties.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I'm a data driven, thoughtful scientifically trained person who leads with both heart and mind.

Judicial Philosophy

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

2nd Amendment

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I'd like to see universal background checks on all gun sales. As was done with automatic weapons (machine guns), I'd like to stop the manufacture of weapons used in combat and stop the sale to civilians. I strongly believe that the requirements for carrying a concealed weapon are not tough enough. People need to show competence before carrying a deadly weapon in their everyday business.

iVoterGuide Note:  "The overwhelming majority of Coloradans, including 78% of Colorado gun owners, support common-sense firearm safety regulations to prevent gun violence. These include supporting the Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO), background checks for all sales, and a 10 day waiting period. As a responsible gun owner, I will defend our Second Amendment rights while working tirelessly to prevent violent crime and suicide. My stance is that people can have/use/carry weapons as long as they are competently trained. Concealed carry classes in Colorado require 3 hours of classes and no live firing. I advocate for live firing and time in a video simulation that mimics stressful, real-life situations where you have to decide to shoot or don’t shoot...In addition to safe storage, we need to educate about available storage options, as well as insist business that sell guns and accessories help people buy safes. I would also like to see criminal penalties for owners who allow firearms to be stolen. In 30% of crimes using a gun, the gun was stolen from a home or auto. I'd like to see similar penalties for firearm businesses who allow firearms to be stolen, often multiple times! These are more than a stolen possession, firearms are deadly weapons that can wreak havoc. Requiring certain insurances may also propel owners to financially acknowledge the potentially deadly consequences of not responsibly storing and using firearms."  Source

Other Important Issues

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Agree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1) Dismantle TABOR through a robust, statewide educational campaign before voting in 2022. 2) Reduce teacher class size responsibility by placing para educators in every classroom. Preferably one with mental health training. 3) Expand opportunities for workers in renewable energy sectors as well as asking developers to install solar panels on homes and placing wind energy within individual communities. (These items AFTER covid-19 has been addressed)

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Instances of the blatant racism shown by some police officers have caused a flashpoint for protest. Our country values peaceful protests. Looting, arson and defacing property are not productive protest and detract from the message that racism is systemic and pervasive. Allowing racism to flourish/exist in societal institutions threatens the fabric of Democracy. I would like to recognize and remedy that fact before labeling it as a threat to domestic security.
