Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
None except to save the physical life of the mother, and then only allowed not required
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Government is way way too big and there are many wasteful programs that should not be funded. Also because the federal government recognizes no limit to its spending, it entices the state government to spend by offering funding to start a program. When that funding "runs out", the state is expected to pick up from then on. Congress needs to draw up a plan to make Social Security and Medicare financially sustaining, as they are the biggest drivers of the budget
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
It should mean what the Founders intended it to mean: separation of the institutions of church and state, not separation of the influence of the church on the state as it is often interpreted today. This issue has been misinterpreted by the Supreme Court and now it impinges on the free exercise clause of the 1st Amendment. It has caused confusion and misunderstanding in the minds of many Americans.
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
By bringing back priniciples of free enterprise to work once again in our health care industry.
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Potential immigrants should be vetted to make sure they will be law-abiding and productive citizens. That said, refugees and asylum seekers due to religious or political persecution in other countries should also be considered depending on the circumstances.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe in the God of the Bible who created me and everything in the world. I also believe that I am a sinner who has been saved by putting my trust in Jesus Christ, God's Son, who died on a cross as a sacrifice for the punishment I deserved because of my sin. He has forgiven me and given me new life because of His Holy Spirit who now lives inside of me. I now have life forever because of Him. I believe society should be structured according to the principles in the Bible. Therefore, I believe in the right to life, the right to liberty for individuals, government protection for these rights, a government that is limited in power, an economic system based on free enterprise and protection of private property, the rule of law not of man, personal responsibility, adhering to the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and in strong families based upon God's definition of marriage. I love God, my family, my community, my state, and my nation! I am thankful everyday for these blessings!
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
The following link tells you the legislation which I supported during my time in the state legislature and the policy positions I have held and continue to hold: https://www.sandysalmon.org/list
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I was raised on a farm, have served in the U.S. Marine Corps, have been married to my military husband 40 years, managed a household on one-income, homeschooled our 3 sons all the way through high school, helped manage our family farm, and served in church and other community groups. I understand faith, freedom, commitment, sacrifice, hard work, and taking responsibility. My experiences have taught me how to work with God, common sense, and what works and what doesn't.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I also believe more needs to be done to combat pornography, especially online, as well as its related issue of human trafficking. We also need to protect privacy and safety of women and children by preserving traditional access to restrooms, locker rooms, women's shelters & safeguard girls' and women's sports. The federal takeover of education (for all practical purposes) with Common Core, the Next Generation Science Standards, and the C3 Social Studies Standards has virtually mandated liberal-infused curriculum in our schools. That needs to be reversed. Practical steps need to be taken to introduce intellectual diversity at our public universities so that students are exposed to conservative viewpoints which are poorly represented on campus. I am also concerned about the security of personal information as there are so many ways it can be leaked without the public understanding.
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
We need to be careful of putting too many restrictions on gun ownership or law abiding citizens will not be able to protect themselves and that hurts public safety. When only "bad guys" have access to guns (because they don't follow laws) then public safety is in danger.
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
Pro-Life Religious Liberty Protections of rights and liberties in a public health disaster emergency
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No. It is an issue that needs to be dealt with on an individual level, in the family and in the church. Government comes in a distant fourth in effectiveness in dealing with racism because it can only deal with its effects, not the core issues that plague the heart. What is a threat to domestic security in the United States is the ludicrous solution of "defunding the police". In fact, the opposite needs to happen: we need more financial support for the police and public safety. We are always seeking every year to find more ways to support our law enforcement.
