Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I think abortion needs to remain a legal and accessible option. Legislation and debate on this issue should be finalized by women, trans men, or other nonbinary individuals with wombs.
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
The Green New Deal cuts our military budget in half (don't worry, we will still be the most expensively strapped nation on Earth, if that says anything about our defense budget bloat), freeing up funds for other programs. We need to save Social Security.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Military Unnecessary research on animals Bailouts for industry and business
Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
Money is a means to an end, not the end itself. So long as it remains a commodity of arbitrary value assigned to paper (or, if it's all electronic, literally nothing but digital ephemera), currency is illusory. Debt can be absolved in an instant.
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Politics and religion are typically not a good mix. It usually ends with people being burned alive. Policy should come from a common ground morality based on the ethos of "do no harm." Obviously this is not practical 100% of the time, but it should inform all decisionmaking. All religions have the Golden Rule. That's a fine example of a universal law.
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
We need Medicare for All. Period.
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
There are far greater threats, including domestic terror from white supremacists who want a Christian monoculture, climate catastrophes like the wildfires currently devouring Oregon and the whole west coast, and the sway of AIPAC and their murderous policies towards Muslims in Palestine and elsewhere. If anything, the question should be when will the United States stop persecuting and bombing Muslims and nonwhite Christians (ie, Yemen and Syria?) Our illegal interventions from 2001 onward fueled the flames of radicalism. US military actions led to the birth of the Islamic State and Levant.
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Anyone, especially refugees fleeing climate or political chaos.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a devout Hindu. The material world is an illusion, dominated by atheistic inclinations such as anger, lust, greed, ego, and attachment. Many of my Christian friends point to the book of Revelation and its predicted natural disasters and moral decay- true moral decay, not prefabricated panic over gays, Muslims, or abortion providers - while I point to the Srimad Bhagavatam, or the Gospel of Krishna. Canto 12, chapter 2 of the Bhagavatam describes the era of darkness (Kali Yuga) as a time where money is glorified, false religiosity dominates public life, and immoral leaders take power. When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I am an Anarchist who believes in the elimination of as much unnecessary hierarchy, bureaucracy, and systems of oppression as possible. Anarchy is based not in destruction or looting, contrary to the words of the President, but is rooted on three guiding principles: Solidarity (unity) Direct Action (people power) Mutual Aid (the Golden Rule, by another name)
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
Nope. My mom raised me right.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
My impression from this survey is that we are unlikely to see eye to eye on some key issues. In this era of division, I wish to extend this plea for unity. I stand by people of faith who believe all ships rise together. As a Hindu, I revere the teachings of Jesus Christ, who I regard as a sagely guru and one of many God-Men (extends to all genders) who have come throughout history to enlighten humankind. He preached against hypocrisy, extravagance, and greed, reinforcing the centrality of love, compassion, and forgiveness in our daily lives. My faith rests foremost in God, the beneficent and merciful Creator of this Universe. I urge you to look at the parallel sayings of Jesus Christ and Sri Krishna. If religious freedom is a value you truly cherish, ask yourself if you want the same protections for all faiths. Even for people with no faith. If you do not support my Muslim brothers and sisters, I do not support you or your way of life. If you say yes, then we are as One.
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I'm a pro #2A leftist. I believe in licensure for firearm ownership/operation just like one would have for a car.
I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
The Electoral College should be abolished.
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
The Green New Deal (https://medium.com/@alexcharlesdiblasi/the-green-new-deal-e293884fd35d) Reparations for American Descendants of Slavery Tax Wall Street / ending interest rates (usury)
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
It's been a problem from day one. Our government has had to undo harmful, restrictive legislation forbidding property and voting rights for women and people of color. This mentality still exists in some circles. It must be eradicated by any means necessary.
