Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

No Answer

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

No Answer

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

No Answer

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

This debate needs to be shifted from argument on legal theory to action providing health care services and health education, including sexual reproduction, focusing on prevention. I am interested in solving problems through good public policy rather than arguing about incremental law changes intended to circumvent a well-founded legal precedent.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

Social Security needs to be supplemented with additional programs that help individuals support themselves during retirement and expands the base of contributors. A combination of "baby bonds", individual savings and financial education, universal basic income and legitimizing all contributors to the workforce would ensure stability and growth of one of the greatest social programs ever conceived.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Balancing the budget, especially with the complications and economic contraction caused by the COVID epidemic, can not just be about cutting costs, but needs a focus in policy to encourage growth. Government at all levels needs to make it easier for businesses to operate, for people to be able to freely change jobs and for small businesses to establish and grow. I will be focused on cutting through efficiency of government and programs that reduce a reliance on government services.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

A don't support general forgiveness of student loan debt However, many were overwhelmingly encouraged to take large student loans in exchange for the promise of good careers, which wasn't true. One solution, which may also address a lack of services in rural or low-income areas is to allow student loans to be repaid through service to qualified pro or not-for-profit work. The current public service loan forgiveness program is inadequate and removes valuable workers from the private sector.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

No Answer

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

No Answer

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

No Answer

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Freedom of religion and freedom from religion. One person's beliefs can not result in the restriction of another person's rights.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

No Answer

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Expansion of Medicare, control of prescription drug prices and set a establish an adequate standard of care and access for rural and low-income ares. The for-profit healthcare system is inherently flawed. I support and understand the benefits of the competition of capitalism when it comes to all most all sectors of the economy, except when it comes to the health of our citizens. The goal of a current system is to make money for healthcare companies. The effect is: - inadequate access in rural and low-income areas with little to no measure for preventative care - a working class who has to think twice about seeking utilizing insurance due to the high premiums they will have to pay, and can often lead to financial ruin and bankruptcy - businesses who have to decide to expand and grow or try and provide benefits for their employees - a group of wealthy individuals and often elected officials, who accept large contributions from health care companies, who refuse to acknowledge the problem

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

I support an international coalition of efforts to protect all people from oppressive organizations. Domestically, any Executive branch administration needs to be continuing efforts to streamline and modernize the capturing, analysis and sharing of information between agencies.

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

No Answer

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

No Answer

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Individuals seeking freedom and opportunity to work-hard and succeed.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

No Answer

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

No Answer

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was raised Catholic and attended Catholic school from pre-school through High School, and my wife and I are parishioners of a Catholic church in Springfield, IL . However, I believe everyone has a personal relationship with their beliefs and spirituality, and should be free to practice as they see fit. It is also prudent to recognize and understand that not everyone holds the same beliefs. Morality is a trait of humanity, not a particular religion. As such, our government can be a moral guide without being a religious one. The greatness of our country is from inclusion, not exclusion.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

No Answer

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

My focus on solving problems may at times be describe as conservative or liberal, probably depending on the observer. I am not interested in being aligned with one "side" - but in developing good public policy that creates opportunity for all people in the pursuit of happiness. I find these labels to be inflammatory jargon for news media and pundits to create teams and perpetuate tribalism that helps get them ratings, and would not describe myself as any of them.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I believe most of the problems we face are solvable if we can put political ideologues aside and focus on implementing good public policy that provides opportunities for everyone to succeed.

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

No Answer

2nd Amendment

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Adequate Criminal Background checks and closed loopholes for the free transfer of weapons to individuals who have forfeited their right to bear arms by engaging in harmful and dangerous criminal behavior.

Other Important Issues

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

No Answer

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

No Answer

The Electoral College should be abolished.

No Answer

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Health care expansion to ensure adequate and accessible medical services to all rural and low-income areas. Mandatory mental health services for active military, veterans, police, fire fighters, other 1st repsonders. Adequate access to counseling for children in schools districts determined to be of high need. Expansion for new parents and other identified groups of individuals. Personal and household debt crisis that has created a bottleneck of economic growth, including student loan debt and lack of financial and entrepreneurial education.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Yes - The results of racism and discrimination are inherent threats because it creates a sense of a second-class citizen. If an individual or group feels that society values them less, or their efforts will not be equally rewarded, it is easy to become disenfranchised. Being deprived of the sense of equality and opportunity makes it easier for individuals to not participate in society and possibly develop fringe, extremist views that may become turn into violent actions.
