Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion should not be allowed under any circumstances.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

I will work to protect the promise of Social Security for those at or near retirment age. I will fight for a Social Security system that is fair to workers and doesn’t pass on crippling financial burdens to the next generation. I believe that it doesn’t have to be an either/or situation. With smart, balanced reforms to our social security programs we can save this program that so many Americans rely on. Ultimately, keeping our American economic roaring and driving economic growth is the single most important thing we can do to ensure prosperity for future generations.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I believe spending in Washington D.C. is out of control. The $23 trillion national debt is unacceptable. I will fight for an end to spending money the government simply does not have. This will force politicians to pass an actual budget with spending priorities that put the safety and security of our nation first. I will support a transparent process that ensures members of Congress and their constituents can review spending bills before voting on them.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

I do not believe taxpayers should help pay off existing student loans. That does not mean we do not have a student loan crisis. Higher education can be a valuable pathway to career success and fulfillment, but today, many students are hurting because of crippling student debt. We must empower students and families to make informed decisions about higher education and promote options such as technical schools and community colleges. While providing them the transparency they need to decide.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The First Amendment is very clear on this and I will always protect our freedoms as outlined in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I believe our first responsibility is to the patients and families seeking care. We must take a patient-centered approach where decisions about your health are made between you and your doctor, not by D.C. bureaucrats. We need to ensure families have access to high-quality health care at affordable prices. Competition, innovation, and expanded market choices will improve quality and lower costs for all Americans. Additionally, we should empower families with greater control and say in their healthcare by expanding health savings accounts. In this patient-centered approach, families deserve the peace of mind that comes with expanded transparency in costs and services. Local families rely on the care provided by small and rural hospitals, so we must ensure they have the resources needed to care for our neighbors. I will push for policies that prioritize preventative care and allow families the freedom to take their health coverage with them when moving from one job to another.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

America should play a leading role in ensuring the defeat of terrorism.

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

No Answer

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

I support legal immigration and respect and value the hardworking immigrants in Illinois and throughout our country who have chosen to come here legally and are an asset to our economy and communities. At the same time, I firmly oppose illegal immigration and will work to secure our borders and keep our families safe. If this means more border patrol agents, more technology, or a physical wall or barrier, I will fight to get it done and defend our border. I strongly oppose sanctuary laws that put families at risk.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a follower of Jesus Christ. My values and life decisions are aligned with the Holy Scriptures. Like the Apostle Paul, I make it my aim to please my Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:9. I am happy to "proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." 1 Peter 2:9

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am a political outsider and first-time candidate for office and will bring a reform and service mindset to Congress. My husband Chris and I have run a local cattle and grain farm for the last forty years. As a Christian and a mother, I recognize the critical role our traditional values play in supporting our families and ultimately our country. I understand that vibrant and growing local economies provide individuals with the opportunity to pursue the American dream, as they understand it. That is why I am focused on economic development and growth and improving our business climate and on providing individuals with freedom so that our faith has room to grow.

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2nd Amendment

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I am a strong supporter of Second Amendment rights. I will oppose any legislation that requires honest gun owners to give up their firearms to government agencies. I believe the best way to curb violence is to enforce existing laws instead of enacting more laws that only serve to undermine the rights of honest citizens.

Other Important Issues

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Strongly Disagree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

I'm running for Congress to help local families in Southern Illinois and ensure they can pursue their American dream. My campaign theme is faith, family, and freedom and those will be my priorities once I am elected. That means empowering our local communities and individuals by expanding economic opportunity and ensuring freedom and family values are protected. I will support policies that drive job creation, unleash small businesses, and empower our local farmers to benefit every family in Southern Illinois.
