Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Abortion should be allowed when the mother's life is in danger, such as an ectopic pregnancy. I am 100% Pro-Life and have been since I was 16 years old. Due to extreme polarization on this issue, we have not moved the needle much on banning this horrific practice. I think the best way to end this is to limit abortion to 6 weeks and require the mother to see and hear the baby via ultrasound prior to the abortion. When women are given more information, many will realize how barbaric abortion is, change their mind, and opt for adoption instead. My Birth Mother Protection Bill also provides services for the birth mother, including mental health services, to make adoption easier for the birth mother. We must streamline adoption procedures to make adoptions quicker and more open, if desired, so adoption will become the preferred resolution to unplanned pregnancies. My dream is to get our society to "self-ban" abortions, with society viewing it for the barbaric genocide that it is.
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
It is disgusting when Congress takes money from the taxpayers and say that they will use the money for a specific purpose, then diverts it from its intended purpose. We have been doing this with Social Security and its abhorrent that Congress is stealing from our seniors! Social Security should NEVER be touched, other to invest and grow! I would push for Social Security to be set apart and protected, requiring 2/3 of each chamber, the President, and 60% of voters to approve any diversion of funds. We must encourage savings and investment by our working adults, to avoid complete reliance on Social Security in their retirement. Investment and savings should be a part of your employment package. When you become eligible for benefits (vacation time, sick time, etc.), you would get to choose an investment package, to contribute a fraction of your income into, which can be rolled over to another package (within the same employer or a different employer) whenever you choose.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
My balanced budget amendment requires that we only budget/spend up to 90% of our estimated revenue (live below our means), so we can use the other 10% to pay down our national debt. It also provides a detailed process to ensure that budget cuts are done in a fair and bipartisan fashion and requires that any cuts to programs come from the administrative side, NOT from benefits. This allows us to "cut the fat" out of these bloated agencies.
Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
Even as a college graduate with student loan debt that I am paying, I acknowledge that it is not the taxpayers responsibility. I do think that colleges and universities have swindled a lot of people out of money with worthless degrees, lower standards, and explosive tuition hikes. If anyone should "help pay off existing student loans", it should be the colleges and universities who did the swindling, not the innocent taxpayer.
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
First of all, those words are not in the United States Constitution. Some have assumed that the First Amendment separates church and state, but it does not say that. What it does state is that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" which means the government cannot restrict the exercise of religion. I believe that means that our government cannot establish an "official" religion by force and it cannot prevent a person from practicing his or her faith, unless it violates human rights (i.e., life - you can't practice a religion that calls for the murder of people from another faith). Mentioning "God", "In God we trust", "So help me God", and so on does not establish any particular faith and therefore, must be protected and even encouraged. Faith is the glue that holds a family and a society together. It must be encouraged, not discouraged.
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I have published a "What Is Wrong With Health Care In America" (RabornForCongress.com/what_is_wrong_with_health_care) which details the problems we have in our health care industry. My Freedom Health Bill is the "cure" for those problems. It is the polar opposite of Medicare For All, which would devastate our nation. The Freedom Health Bill allows the free market to control the prices, bringing costs down to a market-sustainable level, while providing the ultimate in choices and options, and ensures NO ONE is left out. It also separates healthcare from employment so you can truly have the same plan your entire life, if you choose. It also puts more money back in your pocket (avg. $900 per month), saves businesses millions per year, improves Medicaid while saving taxpayers over $200 BILLION per year, and saves Medicare for the next 100 years. This is the REAL ObamaCare Repeal and Replace and I highly advise that you check it out at RabornForCongress.com/freedom_health_plan_bill!
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
First, we must enforce the laws we already have. Some Islamic practices violate the Constitutional Rights of others and that cannot be allowed. Second, we need to ban Sharia Law in the United States. Sharia Law is incompatible with the United States Constitution and it violates Equal Rights for women and other demographic groups. Third, we must combat terrorism in the world. I detest military engagements abroad, but we cannot allow terrorism, under any banner, to thrive, grow, and gain power.
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Obviously, people who are fleeing tyranny and persecution should be allowed, but they must be thoroughly vetted before entering our country. We have a duty to protect American citizens from "Trojan Horses" that may use the cover of "refugee" and/or "asylum seeker" to infiltrate our country to do us harm. Beyond those, we must ensure that we are being selective in who we allow into our nation. We want people with strong work ethics, education, and desirable skills to be at the front of the line. I do NOT support "chain migration". The only "family" situations I support are minor children coming with their parents because family is extremely important to the growth and development of the next generation. Our immigration system must be merit-based. We must also aggressively tackle the human trafficking at the border. Many innocent immigrants have been brutalized by the cartels and coyotes. I am committed to destroying this modern day slavery and protecting the innocent.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a lifelong Christian. I was baptized at age 9, following a Bible Camp where I gave my life to God. On October 16, 2016, I recommitted my life to God by being baptized again, a renewal of my commitment. That second baptism was with my husband and me together, holding hands, and being submersed in unison, with our three daughters watching. In October 2018, our oldest was baptized, which was one of the happiest days of my life! I am a home schooling mom who utilizes a Biblical curriculum. I read the Bible daily and feel "off" when I don't. With only 10-15 minutes a day, I complete the entire Bible each year. This "schedule" is actually on my campaign website, if you would like to follow along. My Christian faith is the bedrock of my life and I always strive to honor God in all I do, including when it comes to my campaign and serving in Congress. As my mom and grandma always said, "When facing a difficult decision, take it to God. Let Him guide you."
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
Considering I just started my "public" life a year ago, the "publicly available" is rather scarce. However, an examination of my Facebook profile and page, my Twitter profile and page, and my campaign website will substantiate that I am very conservative. I was raised a Democrat, but in my very early 20's, I realized that the wholesome, Christian family values I was raised with were more aligned with the Republican Party and conservatives, so I "switched". In reality, I was always a conservative, I just didn't know it for the first 20 years. I am a Christian, NRA member, gun owner, 100% Pro-Life, Pro-Constitution, Pro-2nd Amendment, Pro-Military, Pro-Law Enforcement, Pro-Educational Choice, Pro-Worker, and ANTI-SOCIALIST, just for starters.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
NO! I have never even been arrested or detained, other than a routine traffic stop.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
Four of my five brothers, my husband, father, father-in-law, step-father-in-law, niece, nephews, uncles, and cousins have served in the Air Force, Army, Marines, and Navy. I am proud to come from such a patriotic family and heritage. I believe that the American family is the building block of our society and faith is the glue that holds it all together. By fighting for the future of my children, I am fighting for YOUR future and the future of your family. With God as my guiding force, I will BRING solutions to Washington to ensure that you will always be able to enjoy Freedom, Liberty, Equality, Justice, and Prosperity. I will always put THE PEOPLE FIRST which is why I am the RIGHT solution for Illinois 2nd Congressional District and YOU! Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
We have plenty of restrictions right now. We will never be able to legislate for every situation. We can mitigate, but it's nearly impossible to eliminate crime. Since there will always be crime, Americans need to have access to the tools of self-defense, including guns. I pray to God you are never in a situation where you have to defend your home, your family, or yourself, but if you are, I want YOU to survive! Public safety begins at home with self-defense and my "2A For All" bill".
I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
The Electoral College should be abolished.
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
1. The Freedom Health Bill (author and sponsor) 2. Educating For Success (author and sponsor) 3. Industrial Production of Hemp Bill (author and sponsor) - Hemp is NOT marijuana. It does not make you "high". It can be manufactured into over 50,000 different products, is less expensive, and the products are more durable. Plus, it will provide a plethora of high paying manufacturing jobs right here in Illinois! This is the order in which I wrote them. I will be advocating for all three, and others, simultaneously while in Congress so we can tackle multiple problem at once. We don't have the luxury of time to tinker around. Americans are suffering and need relief NOW!
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
In a nation with over 327 million people, we will not be able to eliminate racism from everyone. I detest racism, in all its forms. On one hand, I believe the media blows things out of proportion, making the problem seem bigger. On the other hand, we cannot ignore that racism does exist. We can always work towards more unity, but it requires everyone making an effort to understand each other more. Racism is, and probably always will be, a problem. But, I do not think it rises to being a "threat to domestic security". Maybe I haven't seen it because I don't associate with racist people. So, whenever it rears it's ugly head, I want to know about it. I believe most problems can be solved or mitigated when we act quickly when these situations occur. But, if I do not see it or hear about it, I can't respond and take action. Once I am aware, I will take action.
