QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
A total ban on abortion is not currently achievable without winning a super-majority in the House and Senate. However, I will work toward pro-family, pro-woman, and pro-life policies at every available chance, including only voting for judges who interpret the Constitution as written.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
I will protect current recipients and near-retirees. We've made a promise that we must keep. Going forward, I am in favor of indexing Social Security retirement age to life expectancy and am open to limiting Social Security payments for the wealthiest retirees to their actual contribution plus some reasonable rate of return. Without these basic reforms, Social Security will fail, leaving retirees vulnerable.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
We desperately need entitlement reform, including Social Security and VA disability reform. There are far too many duplicative, unwieldy programs that are not in the purview of the Federal government in the first place.
Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
None. Any such scheme constitutes a tax on the poor and middle class in favor of the rich and privileged. These loans were taken voluntarily. However, we need serious reform to the student loan system, including universities bearing part of the responsibility for their graduates through co-signing or similar mechanisms.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
It means that the state should not be able to interfere with church or religious activities, speech, or conduct without clear and compelling state interest (preventing the physical abuse of minors, for instance). It does NOT mean the removal of all religious speech and content from public life.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Free market systems are the most efficient way to allocate goods and services. We must have price transparency, individual Health Savings Accounts, and insurance for high-cost, low-probability events. Health insurance must be able to be sold across state lines in order to encourage choice and competition.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
Use legal means to detect and eradicate it inside our borders (law enforcement) and judicious use of military force outside our borders, only when authorized by the Congress.
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.
Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
-Low skill workers for specific industries or employers and for specific periods of time, subject to background check and payment of employment taxes. -High skill workers without country caps. We should take the cream of foreign economies and welcome them to the United States without regret (subject, as above, to background checks and taxes). -The first and most important immigration-related task is to build a system of barriers and enforcement that will keep illegal immigrants out, while allowing in those we want here.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian, and my wife and I are raising our children in the "fear and admonition of the Lord." I believe that I am saved from my sin by the intercessory sacrifice of Jesus and his subsequent resurrection.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
See speeches, writings, and work history.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
Of course not.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am a career servant who believes wholeheartedly in the Constitution and will fight to support and defend it, as I have done for many years.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Background checks on purchases are appropriate to detect felons and mentally ill people. I am for national concealed carry reciprocity and a repeal of the restrictions on silencers found in the NFA.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.
Strongly Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
No Answer
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
SIT Act (Stop Insider Trading). Require all members of Congress to place their holdings in a blind trust upon election. Repeal and replace the Patriot Act with one whose FISA powers are severely restricted. Repeal and replace the War Powers Act and put Congress back in its rightful place under Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism is an internal belief; it does not become a threat to domestic security unless acted upon.
