As a former police officer and military veteran I have been placed in situations of life and death. These types of situations are never easy and have far reaching ramifications for all involved. I would only support the procedure if it was the last resort to save the mother's life.

I would help guarantee the benefits by stopping the use of the benefits for programs outside the scope of Social Security. It is a retirement benefit not an overdraft protection program. It shouldn't be used for people who have not put into the system in the first place.

We make plenty of money as a nation. We need to reallocate funds from programs that have, for decades, not produced or done what they say they were going to do and transfer that to those that not only have done but have exceeded expectations. This is expressed in Matthew 25:14-30 in The Parable of the Talents.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

None. I have student loan debt and I entered that contract knowing I would have to pay it back. I chose a degree in Psychology because I felt that career field would help me afford to pay it back. I am not currently using that degree but I am still responsible for the debt incurred.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The initial position and intent of this part of an entire treaty was to make it clear that the pact was between two sovereign states, not between two religious powers. It was never intended to mean that we cannot have religion in government. A great majority of our founding fathers were Christian and formed our government around the beliefs outlined in the bible. We need to bring God back into our government and most importantly into our homes.

We need to combat the manufacturers of these drugs to discover why drugs that have been on the market for 10+ years are going up in price by 50+% a year.

Education of their true agenda needs to be established. Far too often the information passed along is misconstrued with political rhetoric and discounted as such. I believe in the legal immigration of people into this country. However our economic system can only support a certain amount of new immigrants per year. The people wishing to become citizens should have to go through a stringent vetting process. We do not need to import criminals into our country and we need to ensure those who are attempting to gain legal access are doing so for non-seriptious reasons. Legal immigration is one of the pillars of our nation and needs to be protected as a privilege and not a right. The abuse of amnesty to our country also needs to be stopped. Asylum seekers are required to seek political asylum of a neighboring country first. Not automatically come here and seek it. This needs to be upheld and protected. This is another way people use to get into our nation to harm it.

For nearly 30 years I have put my life on the line to protect and defend my nation and communities. As a hostage negotiator I have the skills and real world experience in reaching common ground and get things done for the benefit of all involved. I have and will continue to do what is right for the nation as a whole and not for special interests. I have the experience of working with a diverse group of people and interests and have helped negotiate and broker agreements benefiting all. Our nation is being held hostage by the far left and I am going to help stop them from further attempting to harm our nation. Who better to serve our state and our nation in Congress than someone who has offered his life for it defense?

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Felons need to continue to not be allowed to legally possess firearms. We have plenty of gun laws already in place that need to be enforced. The only added precaution I would consider would be that of people suffering from chronic mental illness. A good percentage of the abusers do suffer from some kind of mental illness. This would be something that would have to be carefully considered as to not infringe on the constitutional rights of our citizens. My vote would be based on that.

While racism is and will always be a part of this country, I do not believe, based on my past experiences in law enforcement and the military, it to be as large as an issue the left makes it to be. The statistics involved are not disputed but they are skewed to fit their agenda. As long as there is ignorance there will be racism from all races.
