Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Rape, Incest, or when the life of the Mother is in jeopardy. But no late-term or after-birth abortions.

Economy

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

According to the 2020 annual report of the Social Security Board of Trustees, the trust funds that disburse retirement, disability, and other Social Security benefits will be depleted by 2035. - The federal government borrows from the Social Security Trust, and the Trust is able to generate income from the interest it earns on its loans. Last year, $85.1 billion of the $996.6 billion that was generated by the program came from interest income. - Reduce or eliminate Social Security benefit payments for individuals or couples who are wealthy but give them tax benefits instead. - Use price transparency in procedures and medicine to drive the cost of health services down.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

This is impossible to answer with the current state of the U.S. with the money that must be spent due to the Coronavirus pandemic. We must use our resources to get past the pandemic and assess the situation after the fact.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

Taxpayers should not help students pay off loans. Students assumed the responsibility of their loans. It is not the taxpayer's responsibility to pay loans off for them. It is also not fair to the students who've paid their loans already. There are ways to get financial assistance before college begins with scholarships and grants.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Separation of church and state is the legal right of Americans to freely live their faith, even in public; without fear of government coercion. We should be able to practice the Judeo-Christian values that the USA was built on without being forced to take GOD out of our speech, schools, and businesses. I believe in religious freedom for everyone and our freedoms should not be limited by the government. For example: not being acceptable to say Merry Christmas or restricting children saying GOD during the pledge of allegiance.

Healthcare

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

We must make hospitals disclose their rates. Patients need the ability to actively shop for medical services based on healthcare price transparency. There is an average price disparity of almost 300% among similar services. Health care transparency will help reduce spending without compromising quality or access to care. We must also be able to import prescription drugs from other countries at lower costs. The costs of pharmaceuticals are lower in Canada, Europe, and Japan because their governments take an active stance on affordability and link a drug’s access to the market with affordable pricing.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

To eradicate the threat of radical terrorism we must have a hard stance on any agitators of terrorism who try and rise up against the U.S. We need to have forceful, swift, and definitive action to deter any terrorist threats.

Immigration

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

My parents are from the Caribbean, my father's family escaped political persecution in Haiti from the dictator Papa Doc Duvalier. My wife's family fled Cuba after fighting against communism and Fidel Castro. Although I am a 1st generation American, times have changed and I do not believe everyone should be able to walk into the U.S. and receive residency. The U.S. needs a primarily point-based immigration system so we can get talented immigrants into the country who will be able to positively impact the economy. United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand currently use a similar system. We must be even more critical of immigrants during the Coronavirus pandemic, not only for our safety but for our economy. U.S. jobs must be filled by unemployed U.S. workers first.

Education

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

Values

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was raised Catholic. I've also attended Catholic school throughout my elementary years and college. I believe in religious freedom for everyone and our freedoms should not be limited by the government. For example: not being able to say Merry Christmas or Restricting children saying GOD during the national anthem in schools.

Qualifications

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

My parents are from the Caribbean. As a 1st generation American, I was raised in the Catholic Church with traditional conservative values.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

Florida District 20 has had Alcee Hastings as a Congressman for 28 years. I have lived and worked in FL-20 for over a decade but have seen no improvement. FL-20 is one of the most economically challenged districts in Florida, and I'm ready to fight to bring much-needed change to the constituents of FL-20. I will advocate for School Choice, Strong Borders, 2nd Amendment Rights, Ending Illegal Immigration, Helping Lake Okeechobee & The Everglades, Animal Rights, Term Limits, and Veteran Affairs. Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2nd Amendment

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I am a supporter of the 2nd amendment but I believe background checks are needed to protect public safety. We must prevent people from acquiring firearms when they have a significant history of harming themselves or others.

Other Important Issues

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Neutral

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1. Revise Section 230 of the Communication Decency Act which allows big tech companies (Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, etc) liability protection from what users post. But they are now censoring conservative voices and promoting political bias. The Communication Decency Act was created in 1996 and needs to be modernized due to the exponential growth of the internet and social media platforms. 2. Our veterans deserve excellent benefits and the best medical care that we can give them. Broward county needs and expanded VA clinic that can provide a greater depth of services. It is unfair for sick veterans to be forced to drive to Miami or West Palm Beach to receive needed medical treatment. 3 - Create an after school program for parents who work non-traditional hours. Currently, most programs end at 6pm but retail and late shift workers still need support with their children.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I do not believe racism is a domestic security threat, in our current political climate we have seen thousands of people from every race march hand in hand. Extremist groups are the domestic security threat. They have been pushing their socialist agenda and trying to change our way of life. Riots, destruction of property, changing speech, removing history, defunding police. Our way of life is at risk, and we need legislators who will not surrender to the mob mentality.
