Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Rape or incest (within 1st trimester) Mental incapacity of the mother (within 1st trimester) All should be performed within the 1st trimester. I support states determining their own guidelines rather than the federal government.
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
Congress should pay back the money taken out of the system for other purposes. Promises need to be kept. The Federal budget needs a thorough reevaluation and prioritization of non-defense discretionary spending. We must promote a climate where individuals and the firms that employ them can flourish and grow the tax base.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Efficiency and proper management of our resources is vital. Eliminate the department of education. Improving the economy will result in less welfare related funding. Eliminate sanctuary cities and reduce foreign aid. Improving control over illegal immigration will result in lower expenditures for health care, housing, food stamps, crime, law enforcement, and the judicial system.
Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
If the student was "of age," the obligation is established. Interest rates on student loans should be minimal. If the student was a minor without a cosigner, the obligation can be challenged. In my opinion, the student's obligation might be satisfied in exchange for work. In the future, making the university a cosigner, would give it a vested interest in student placement for higher paying jobs. It would prevent loans for frivolous pursuits that have no demand in the marketplace.
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
There should be no official government religion and there should be no religious litmus test to qualify as a government employee. This does not mean that religious "teachings" or phrases which have been a fundamental part of our history should be forbidden from government buildings, monuments, ceremonies, or pledges. Our history IS FIXED. It can be interpreted, analyzed and dissected, but it cannot be changed. Like evolution in nature, we are a product of those that came before. "Freedom of religion" is not "freedom from religion."
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Healthcare, like anything else, is a commodity. Everyone should contribute to the expense at some level. Nothing in life is free. Abuse of the system imposes an unfair burden on productive persons and is unsustainable. The same level of treatment should not be available to those that will not or have never contributed. Everyone should receive a minimal amount of care. Implementation must be done without additional governmental expansion. Reducing costs of medication and services through competition is a must. The government should not play a role in determining who is essential or disposable.
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
Secure the borders. Increase verification of background, associates, finances and work history. Continue intelligence gathering abroad at current levels. Separate radicals in prison system (send convicted terrorists to Gitmo). Eliminate known terrorist leaders in foreign countries who, with verification, threaten hostilities.
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
We are not the policemen nor are we the nursemaids of the world. All decisions relating to immigration must be viewed economically. If we bankrupt this country and devalue our currency, we can help no one. Admission into this country should be based on the needed workforce to maintain a healthy economy. Security clearances must be air tight for those in our defense department. No one should be admitted if there is any doubt that the person poses a threat to security. Anyone overstaying a visa should not be allowed to re-enter.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian. I believe that life is a gift from God and should be valued as such. No religion should be forced on another, nor should there ever be a religious test to come to this country. I believe in the freedom to practice all major religions in our country.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
Unfortunately, my voting record is not public. I was a public school teacher in Illinois that never belonged to the teacher's union. I am a member of the NRA and strongly support the 2nd amendment. I am a small business owner that has employed many people during a span of 42 years in our district. I have paid more than $700,000 in property taxes during my residence here to support our police, fire and schools. I am proud of those in my family that have served in the military during "trying times." My husband served in Viet Nam during TET, my father stationed at Hickam Field in Honolulu on Dec 7th, served 44 months in the South Pacific following the attack on Pearl Harbor, and my best friend served as a Ranger in Korea. Anyone that knows me, knows my conservative feelings and dedication to this country.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am a patriot. I support our president and am proud to spend personal funds in an effort to achieve this office. President Trump has been running a democrat gauntlet for the last three years. This "resistance" has impacted his efficiency and has cheated the electorate of positive results that could have been achieved. The impeachment process was a verifiable fraud. In all likelihood, it was conducted to hide illegal activities of key individuals for a period of time, thereby reaching the statute of limitations. It would also reduce the public's appetite for penalizing their criminal activity. No other person could have withstood the onslaught of media, bureaucrats, elected democrats, and the backstabbing by some republicans. Our president has earned re-election and I would be proud to help him. God Bless Donald Trump.
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Gun ownership IS public safety. We (you and me) are the 1st line of defense, not the police. We already have restrictions in place. I see no need for any others. Criminals will not follow laws, therefore law abiding citizens should never be placed at a disadvantage.
I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
The Electoral College should be abolished.
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
1. Require all teachers and educators paid, in whole or in part with US tax dollars, to take an oath of allegiance to this country, just like the military and civil servants. These educators influence our most precious asset, our children. Review, for accuracy, all materials used to teach US history in our public schools. Require that all students pass a civics and history test before graduation comparable to the one administered to those wanting citizenship. 2. Require repayment of social security "loans" back into the system. These re-appropriated funds were used for other obligations or projects. This practice amounts to an abuse of power and breach of contract with our workers. 3. Work to reimburse taxes paid by individuals on Social Security benefits for contributions paid into the system. These contributions were taxed twice.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism is a fact in history. Every society makes its own determination as to its value. In this country, we fought a war and hundreds of thousands died for the principle of equality. Those that benefited from that decision by Lincoln are slowly moving forward. Laws against discrimination have been passed, access to improved education and assimilation into our society improves long standing stereotypes. Prejudice is a function of personal relationships and experience. It takes time, just like becoming a friend to another takes time. Friendship cannot be forced it on another, and it must be earned. Many choose to use the word racism as a wedge to achieve an unearned advantage over another group. This causes resentment and a reaction in the opposite direction. All too often, race-baiting has been profitable for a few. Those that are influenced, must learn on their own, what is in their best interest.
