Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Life of the mother, rape, incest, and even with these caveats, a viable baby should never be aborted. I stand with Mother Teresa, whereas abortion advocates stand with Margaret Sanger.

Economy

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

This is a difficult question, but I do not believe billionaires need Social Security. The program was started to protect the elderly from dying in poverty. By placing an income-based cap on Social Security, its life would be extended for our children.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

All of the above. There is waste in all departments, including the military. A fundamental change from baseline budgeting, which causes waste and growth of government, is where I plan on starting. Agencies must have performance measured and must have budgets based on performance.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

I paid off my student loans. We work to reduce toxics in the environment, thereby reducing cancer risk. I'm not convinced that giving student loan forgiveness makes better teachers or public servants. We are now $28 Trillion in debt we must get our debt spending under control.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The government shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or the free exercise thereof. This does not remove God from the public square as many liberals argue. We must fight back to keep our right to exercise our religious beliefs and practices in the public square.

Healthcare

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I believe that capitalism works. Increasing the availability of educational opportunities for people who wish to become doctors should increase the number of doctors available to practice. With more doctors, the price of care should be reduced. Giving the people the opportunity to join co-op groups like Medi-Share is favorable in my opinion. Government should stay out of the market. We need more doctors and fewer lawyers. Repealing Obamacare would help reduce the cost of health care.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Terrorism is a form of warfare we now fight. The United States of America is a true World Force that should not be underestimated that could and should do good. The USA should never fund terrorists or states that sponsor terrorists. The spread of evil is real. The CIA and operations task forces of the military should play a significant role in stopping radical terrorists of all types.

Immigration

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Anyone who can do so legally. People who immigrate should assimilate into the culture of the United States and not fundamentally change the culture. Preferential treatment can lead to racism.

Education

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

Values

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Because of him, I love God and my neighbor.

Qualifications

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

The information regarding my platform is at rmarkarmstrong4senate.com. The press has covered my campaign, and it is posted there. I have a 35-year record of helping small businesses navigate and push back against government overreach.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

Let’s get big money and corruption out of politics, and let’s get the federal government back inside the Constitution where it belongs. The public has now seen the problems caused by unelected bureaucrats writing law. When a health officer can shut down the economy without legislative oversight the rights of the people are being infringed. I will work very hard to represent the People of my State and bring this Country closer to a Constitutional Republic as founded, as One Nation Under God!

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2nd Amendment

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None, other than violent felons, are restricted. Criminals do not obey gun laws.

Other Important Issues

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Disagree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1) Term limits. 2) Balanced budget. By changing government accounting from baseline budgeting to performance-based zero-sum budgeting. 3) Defund Planned Parenthood. Giving public money to Planned Parenthood and then having them fund Democrat candidates makes no sense. 4) Rewrite the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). 5) Single issues on bills so that legislation must pass on its own merits. 6) Food Security and Information Bill. Mandatory country-of-origin labeling and diversity of the packing industry. 7) Pharmaceutical and Personal Protective Clothing Security Bill. Requiring the manufacturing of essential medical supplies in the United States. 8) Repeal Obamacare. 9) Campaign finance reform that requires media coverage of all candidates fairly.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. We continue to have racial protests and riots, but the fundamental racial character of the USA is improving. We still have room for improvement. By better communicating our history and bringing people closer together, racism should be reduced. People who fan the fire of hate should be reprimanded and should be debated in a civil discussion that educates people against hate.
