Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Not many. If a woman will not survive the pregnancy than the family and doctor should consider all options.
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
Unfortunately, the government has messed it up to the point where it needs a complete overhaul. These funds should never be used for anything but Social Security. No matter what we do someone is going to feel taken advantage of. Push back eligibility age, means-testing for individuals, and commit to stopping fraud and waste is a start.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
All. No matter what you cut somebody will feel as if they were unduly victimized. If we cut the same percentage on every expenditure then there will be no room for political maneuvering and bias. There will have to be some uncomfortable times to make this right. Unfortunately, the political class is too worried about re-election to do the right thing and fix our budget.
Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
None. With the exception of military service.
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
It is the separation of church and state not the elimination of church in state! Our country was found upon religious Judeo-Christian moral beliefs and teachings. Remember a big reason why people left Europe was to escape government required religious belief. So to me, it merely means that the government will not require a specific religion. However, it does not mean that we ignore our origins as a nation. There is a very distinct and revealing connection between the removal and revising of our Christian principles from public life and the moral decay of our society.
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Who among us feels Congress is living by different rules than citizens are? Well, that is what is happening with health care. While they have the finest care, that we pay for, they push a different standard of care for the rest of us. America has the best health care in the world! We should all be able to afford it by reducing unnecessary regulations while working to reduce frivolous litigation. Limiting choices does not make for much competition. Open health insurance across state lines opening up the capitalist marketplace for competitive rates. Competition brings more accountability, better service, and lower prices. Private insurance brings choice and Americans deserve the ability to choose what is best for them or their business.
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
Education is key! I have been to dozens of predominantly Muslim countries. The majority of the people I met were like you and i. They wanted a better future for their kids and a good life in the present. The problem is the head of the snake! We have to search out the radicals and destroy the leadership. Give the children a reason to not follow the radicals and to want more out of life. This is a generational problem that did not just show up one day. It will take time to turn it around but like I said the children and education are the keys.
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Anyone who is willing to become an American and assimilate to the ways of our nation. Do not leave a place you do not like then try to turn America into that place! “In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American … There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag … We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language … and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.” Theodore Roosevelt 1907
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I was raised Catholic and now am a non-denominational Christian. I know Jesus is my Savior and God is our creator. I still struggle with doubt and questions like most.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
As citizens of the greatest country on earth, my utmost goal is to uphold the Constitution that our brave forefathers fought and founded America on. No other country has such a document and our Bill of Rights is the envy of all other nations. Having traveled extensively, I have seen this first hand. I don't just say I will fight for my country, as a navy veteran, I volunteered to do so. I will continue that fight in Washington DC. Our nation's policies must follow the Constitution, reflect smaller government, and the freedoms we hold dear.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
As an American who wants the best for his Family, Country, and District, I am concerned about the direction of our nation. ? Being a history buff for years, a member of our military, and an involved citizen, my love for our country is the driving force to protect our freedoms, Rights, and country, as our forefathers envisioned for all Americans. I believe in originalism and consider myself a conservative. I am Pro-Life, pro 2nd amendment, and believe that revisionism and un-patriotic education systems combined with career politicians and the lack of the moral pillars our country was found on are the major contributors to our societal decline. I believe in American exceptionalism I don't think the rest of the world would be so set on coming to America if it was not so. Think about it, people are willing to risk their very lives to come be a part of this great nation!
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The second amendment says it all. "Shall not be infringed". The 2nd amendment was not intended for hunters! It was intended for the people to be able to resist a tyrannical government and provide for self-defense. I believe in background checks and even a waiting period for people who do not carry a permit (already having a background check). Other than that I think there should be no bans on guns, capacities, or calibers.
I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
The Electoral College should be abolished.
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
Budget/Debt. We need to cut the pork out of bills, possibly using presidential line-item vetoes. We need to streamline government and get rid of useless rules, regulations, and yes even departments. Immigration reform. Our immigration system is broken. Rushing borders, overstaying visas, chain migration, and anchor births are unfair to those waiting to come in through proper legal channels. This overwhelms resources. No other country allows this kind of breach of sovereignty. America has the right and responsibility to enforce the laws that work and change the ones that don’t. I will advocate for legal immigration and work permits utilizing a merit-based system ensuring self-sustaining individuals that will not be dependent on the system to live. Term Limitations on both the congress and the senate. We should never have a representative that should not have to think about what they will do as a constituent when their term ends.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Yes but only in the sense that the media is able to hype and fan the flames of racism. Yes, it exists, and yes it should not. The fact is there will always be people who do not like each other based on a diverse plethora of factors. Fortunately, as for racism, regardless of what the media and the Woke want us to believe is a product of a small minority of people. I was a white kid living in a mostly black neighborhood for a while in high school and I can tell you it is not a single race problem, but not nearly as widespread as we are being lead to believe.
