Questionnaire

Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Only in those instances where the life of the mother is threatened.

Economy

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

I would make it a priority to require that the federal government balance its budget without using the Social Security money collected from workers and businesses. We have all worked hard and paid into Social Security so it could be used for our retirement and not used as a piggy bank to be raided and spent irresponsibly by the politicians in Washington.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

One specific area to tackle is the fraud that is part of the nearly threefold increase in the costs associated with Social Security Disability Benefits. There are a huge number of law firms that will fight to get Social Security Disability Benefits for all most anyone by claiming "soft tissue injuries" or "mental incapacity". In other words, a bad back and stress. This contributes to the deficit and needs to be stopped. The program needs to be refocused on those that are truly disabled.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

Taxpayers should not pay off existing student loan debt. It is unfair to those parents who saved to put their kids through school and to those students who worked hard to pay their own way to then require them to pay more in taxes to cover the cost of sending someone else to college.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Separation of church and state, as envisioned by those who founded our nation, came about due to the experience in England. Historically, the Church of England was the county's only official church and membership was required to hold any public office. That is why the 1st Amendment prohibited Congress from making any "law respecting an establishment of religion". This was to prevent a recurrence of the situation in England. The 1st Amendment was never meant to be taken to the extremes that it has been today, where it is used to eradicate any and all reference to religion from the public space.

Healthcare

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I would do the following: 1. Mandate transparency in pricing so that those that are using medical services know what they are being charged for each specific item so they can compare that with what other users are being charged. Competition is the essential component to bringing down costs and pricing transparency is the initial first step in that process. 2. Expand Health Savings accounts. 3. End the mandate specifying what must be provided in a health insurance plan. 4. Allow for the purchase of plans across state line. 5. Limit attorney's fees in medical liability cases. 6. Promote insurance that is not tied to a job but that is portable and provides for catastrophic illnesses which can also cover per-existing conditions.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

We should continue with President Trump's approach of establishing the overall strategic goals and results desired in the fight against radical Islamic terrorism but then allowing the U.S. military the freedom to determine the resources, tactics and rules of engagement necessary to achieve the desired outcome.

Immigration

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Over the past several years the United States has accepted an average of 1,000,000 legal immigrants each year, with little to no concern as to what they bring to the table that would make America better. We need legal immigration that is skill based with a focus on those who can contribute to our great country combined with a desire for rapid assimilation and integration. We need to end both chain migration and the visa lottery. Period.

Education

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Values

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in Almighty God and His Son, Jesus Christ with all my heart, soul and mind. Through that I have forgiveness of my sins and the assurance of life ever after. I look forward to the day when: "At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

Qualifications

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

It is my heartfelt desire that my role in Congress would be to serve the citizens of the PA-7th Congressional District and our great nation and through that to bring glory to Almighty God and His Son, Jesus Christ.

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2nd Amendment

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Restricting gun ownership or banning so called “assault weapons” is all about politics and not about results. Neither approach is a solution to gun violence and will do nothing more than chip away at the 2nd Amendment rights of millions of law-abiding citizens. I do support the ongoing efforts to pass comprehensive mental health legislation that would help keep guns out of the hands of those who legitimately are a danger to themselves or others, providing they have due process protection.

Other Important Issues

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Disagree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1. Funding needed to complete the border wall 2. Elimination of federal funding for any sanctuary jurisdiction which could then be used for item 1 above. 3. Prohibition of abortion after the time when a heartbeat can be detected in the unborn baby.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is not a threat to domestic security in the United States. Since the 1960's, our nation has made tremendous progress in securing the rights of all minorities. Voting, housing and employment are open to all without any restriction.
