Questionnaire

Please note: Responses are entered electronically by the candidate and are listed verbatim.

Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Only when the life of the mother is in physical danger.

Economy

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

First, all funds that are supposed to go to the Social Security must be placed into a trust account that cannot be used for any other purpose ever, not even by a vote of a later congress session. Second, we need to refund all the funds that congress have already taken from this account and it may be paid back over a period of time. Third, individuals who continue to earn an average yearly income are not entitled to receive their benefits until they stop earning that income.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

1) We must end Congress and the Presidents receiving their full salary as retirement. They need to have a retirement plan similar to private citizens. 2) Cut out waste, fraud, corruptions, and slush funds. 3) Discretionary spending on things like entertainment (the movies, NPR etc.) must end until we are out of debt. 4) Tax loopholes for corporations and rich individuals need to be closed. 5) Stop funding pet projects that are not necessary.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

We should assist those who become disabled. We should continue to give deferments to those who are unemployed or need temporary assistance. We should also give assistance to those who work in underserved regions of the country.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It is a phrase that does not exist in the Constitution and has been used to discriminate and badger religious institutions and beliefs. The Constitution says that Congress cannot establish a religion or prohibit the free exercise of religion. Strictly put, that means the government cannot favor one religion over another religion and it cannot stop someone from practicing their religion.

Healthcare

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Here are some of my ideas on health insurance: 1. Protect those who have pre-existing conditions 2. Allow health insurance companies to compete across state lines 3. Encourage the use of Health Savings Account 4. Encourage businesses to continue group coverage 5. Small businesses and self-employed should be able to join together to form a group coverage like the big companies have 6. Medicaid should only be a safety net to protect those who cannot get insurance otherwise 7. Medicare needs to be fixed but still only be available to senior citizens and disabled individuals who want to be on Medicare 8. Those who have high income (approx. $300,000) should remain on private insurance instead of going on Medicare as long as they have that income or a very high net worth.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

First, we must keep our military strong and have up to date technology, protective gear, and weapons. Second, we must stay vigilant and be prepared for the next attack. Third, we cannot enter a war unless we have a clear strategy to win and exit the region. Fourth, we should have secure communication with other countries that allows for sharing of information and intelligence, that we can verify, as long as they do not use equipment from government backed Chinese companies (that would allow for the Chinese to have access to information). Fifth, we need to cooperate and work with the countries that share our priorities and goals.

Immigration

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

We should only allow individuals to come to this country who want to work and assimilate into our society by learning English, obeying our laws, respecting our customs, knowing our Constitution and history, and taking an oath that our Constitution is the supreme law of the land. These individuals can only bring their spouse, minor children, and dependents (examples elderly parent and disabled adult children) with them whom they will support.

Education

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Values

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. He died on the cross for mine and every other humans' sin. It is upon acceptance and repentance that we are saved. I believe the Bible is the Living Word of God that is still active and working today. I believe in the Trinity. I believe that the greatest commandments are to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, soul, and mind, and the second is to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. It is important that I don't just read God's word but daily implement the commands that God has given by renewing my mind and working to shed myself of sinful desires. It is not possible to attain perfection here on earth but I should work on it each day by making God my number one priority.

Qualifications

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I have been a registered Republican my entire voting life. Since, 2016 I was voted in as a Precinct Committee Person for the Clackamas County Republicans. I participated in the campaigns of George W. Bush and Donald J. Trump. I went to a conservative Christian College. I participated in a semester program put on by multiple Christian colleges/university in Washington, D.C., called American Studies Program, which goal was to not only study policy and have an internship but to learn how to live out our faith.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I believe it is important that a representative be willing to negotiate and fight for the best result for their district and the United States. In the instances where I gave a specific answers on policy in this questionnaire, I am opened to hearing new ideas and suggestion, and willing to compromise on policy where it will benefit the American people and the people of my district. I will not compromise on principle. I believe it is important to represent the people of my district. I will listen to and work for my constituents.

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2nd Amendment

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The Second Amendment is a vital component of our Constitution that helps protects every other right given in that document. Guns may only be taken from someone after a legal proceeding is completed where the individual has been afforded due process. Such as those ruled a danger to society/themselves or mentally unfit. Any individual can prove later that they are no longer a danger or are now mentally fit in a court of law to regain possession of their guns.

Other Important Issues

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Strongly Disagree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1. Help fight and stop sex and human trafficking and to assist the victims 2. Repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act 3. Make the tax cuts permanent

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Identity politics, dividing people into groups, pitting them against one another, and into a mindset of us versus them mentality is a threat to US security. Racism is wrong and should be dealt with wherever and whenever we find it. There should be mechanism for individuals to report racism for no one should discriminated against based on race. We need to get to the point where we are not judging people based on their skin tone but on their character, just like Martin Luther King Junior's I Have Dream speech.
