Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

No Answer

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

My personal morality is that abortion is only acceptable in extreme circumstances endangering the life of the mother.

Economy

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

As custodians of citizens' money, the government must ensure fiscal responsibility and responsible care of Social Security. Allowing individuals the ability to choose to invest portions of their share would provide greater returns and transparency to the system.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Across the board reduction, especially in bureaucracies and regulation enforcement.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

None. Government student loans allowed colleges to inflate their costs and build billions in endowments. This is not the taxpayer fault, but that of the government and especially colleges.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

I believe in the original intent of Separation of Church and State, which is to keep government out of religion and people's personal beliefs. Our nation was build on Judeo-Christian values and it is clear the representatives we choose to elect will carry their values with them.

Healthcare

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Choice must be an aspect of U.S. Healthcare where Americans can choose their plan and provider. Tort reform is an easy way to begin battling ever-growing healthcare costs, as well as allowing Americans to join Health Insurance buying groups.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

We can defend our nation with strong borders and defense, however in this endeavor we should not sacrifice the individual liberty of American citizens.

Immigration

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Neutral

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Individuals who seek a land of opportunity and individual liberty are a benefit to the nation. Unfortunately, a government of handouts complicates immigration issues. Additionally, if we allow the best and the brightest to move from their home countries to America, we risk robbing their home countries of the individuals who would help create more just and prosperous countries across the world.

Education

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Values

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Non-denominational protestant and the son of American Baptist missionaries in the Democratic Republic of Congo. I have seen the Lord's work throughout my life.

Qualifications

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No, not even a traffic or parking violation.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

Eli Clemmer is not a politician. As an everyday school teacher from New Hampshire's beloved North Country, Eli understands the problems we face, and the solutions we need. As the only outsider in the race, Eli has the voice and the momentum to finally return New Hampshire's 2nd Congressional District to the people of the Granite State and restore their liberty.

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

2nd Amendment

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The only restrictions I would have are for convicted violent felons, with a process to restore rights if they can prove full rehabilitation. The 2nd Amendment states "shall not be infringed."

Other Important Issues

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Neutral

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

We must ensure freedom of speech on the internet and social media if we are to remain a free society. We have for far too long allowed the far-left to control the narrative and media in this country and need to work to preserve liberty for our children and grandchildren. Additionally, we must rein in, or cut federal benefits to, collages and universities, which have increasingly promoted far-left Socialist ideals and shutting down Conservative thought. Term limits for U.S. Congress and Senate are a great way to lower the corruption and allow for a return to a citizens' legislature.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racial tension in the United States, especially the past few years, has been a threat to the country. We must be a united people, and yet the Democrats have used identity politics to separate American citizens against one another.
