Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Rape, Incest, Life of Mother or Child. I believe that life begins at conception, but believe we should enact legislation that protects life from cradle to grave based on the identification or lack thereof determined by the heartbeat.

Economy

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

One thing for certain is there is always government waste in spending. Sometimes it takes getting in there before a person can start making assumptions of what they would and wouldn't cut. Given the situation we're facing I believe it's important to make the cuts where they are necessary ensuring that Kansans don't feel the burden of taxes raised because of the mismanagement of our current governor.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Neutral

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

My perspective can be summed up into a simple statement. If my rights as a Christian are protected because Christianity is in the majority, I'll fight the rights of the minority religion out of obligation that if I were ever to be in the minority that our government is not so influenced by faith that we find ourselves on the receiving end of a world in where we find ourselves looking more like a theocracy than a Constitutional Republic that we are.

Healthcare

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Neutral

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I believe we have some real issues to address here in Kansas when it comes to our current state. I believe we should continue to address issues that we as Kansans face on progressive level moving forward. There are many issues that could be currently addressed, one being legislators must stop this continued push for Medicaid Expansion in Kansas. We have a system that needs fixed yes, but I believe our current standard can be worked in and through to offer Kansans better without the strong intervention that this expansion would entail.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

Immigration

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Our current immigration system could be modified to help fix some of the issues we've failed to deal with over the last 12 years. I believe our situation that needs addressed is our refugee policy and how we determine who we bring into the United States as refugees vs helping to relocated them in countries that would be closer to the culture, economy, or governmental structure they are accustomed. We need to change laws at a National level that changes how we determine who can be considered a refugee which places people who are illegally immigrating here from other countries not bordering our own.

Education

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Values

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Neutral

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Neutral

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I'm Catholic, but attend a Non Denominational Christian Church, Newton Christian Church. I'm a Freemason and believe that all faiths have value and should be protected for individuals to exercise their faith accordingly as long as this exercise doesn't infringe on another's rights to do so as well. I believe that my job as a faithful Christian should focus on loving God with all my heart, soul, and strength and loving my neighbor as myself. I believe in protecting widows and orphans. I'm a person who walks my faith.

Qualifications

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Fiscal Conservative with libertarian leaning views on social issues. Pro Life, Pro Second Amendment, Constitutional Conservative. I'm an individual who believes Medicinal Marijuana should be an option but not err on the side of Recreational. I believe we should ensure that peoples rights are protected at the State level first, ensuring that Federal legislation doesn't hurt Kansans in the process.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

Educationally, I went to school for a Degree in Political Science specifically so that I could learn how to effectively navigate the current "political system" or have a better understand of how to effectively change and advocate for different types of legislation to be passed. I have blue collar experience as a trade worker for over a decade, while later becoming a general manager for a major retail chain. Having understood the different dynamics of how government effects everyone equally but in different ways it's made me desire to represent my neighbors and community better than they have in the past. My life's experience has also helped me to understand where individuals are in their lives and how government relates daily. With the current state we find ourselves, it's imperative that we elect people who have walked a mile in the shoes of the individuals voting for them, and that's me.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I'm an individual who has life's experience to understand our current condition and the way Kansans have suffered. Being a life long Kansan I've seen how our State has slowly slipped away from being a major exporter of agriculture products with a burgeoning mental health system that's all but ground to a halt. It seems one thing most Kansans understand is decisions made recently on a National level as well as a State level here in Kansas has often missed the mark, given the disconnect of our common condition or the condition of the common man, common everyday family, and we want certain promises kept. Promises like we will remain a Pro-life, Pro 2A, Constitutional Conservative State. As a Kansan I understand, as a blue collar tradesman, I understand. Let's get back to the common man running our state and representing us accordingly. Then and only then will the State of Kansas understand.

Judicial Philosophy

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Disagree

2nd Amendment

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Citizens who are in State Custody for felonies committed should have their gun rights removed until they have completed their sentence. I believe we need to disqualify less people from owning a firearm to protect themselves and their families.

Other Important Issues

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Ensure the Value Them Both Amendment is passed without Medicaid Expansion attached and Kansans have the right to Vote on the amendment. Author a bill that would change, lessen financial burden for individuals residing in Kansas (Kansans) adopting within the State. It's horribly expensive to adopt a child in Kansas and we should make it less expensive and focus on encouraging adopting children to available family units quicker. Sponsor/Co-Sponsor a bill that would focus on the legalization of Medicinal Marijuana in the State of Kansas. Author Medicinal Medical Transportation Safety Act which would allow individuals from neighboring state to be in possession of their medicinal marijuana prescription and consume, as long as they had their state I.D. prescription from the physician, they would be allowed to transport and be in possession or consume the medicine they were legally prescribed without fear of prosecution in Kansas

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No
