Questionnaire

Please note: Responses are entered electronically by the candidate and are listed verbatim.

Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

There is no circumstance when abortion should be allowed.

Economy

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

A review of each area of government spending would net possibilities for such reductions as the Legislators craft a budget.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Our Country was founded on Biblical principles. Separating Church and State to me means that the Country would not be allowed to tell you which church denomination or set of religious beliefs you could/should follow as long as the religious services and involvement operate within the law of the land.

Healthcare

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Healthcare must include a component of personal responsibility. Health care must offer choices for varied insurance plans with health coverage. Allowing consumer engagement in knowing the cost for various health care precedures and proceses should be incorporated into the individual's choice of insurance product. I support transparency in costs of health care so physicians and patients may choose treatment knowing the actual cost.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

Immigration

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Those individuals who want to immigrate to the U.S. and follow/adhere to support of the US Constitution, should be allowed to enter and live/work under our Country's rule of law.

Education

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

Values

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian who believes the Bible is inerrant as the true Word of God. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit exist in the Triune God. Jesus saves us from our sin with His Death and Ressurection. This is most certainly true.

Qualifications

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I served 10 years in the Kansas House of Representatives during which time I voted numerous times for bills that would limit government and make budgets for state governemt efficient and effective with a minimal amount of tax dollars. I have voted against tax increases which threaten fiscal restraint and responsibility in government functions. I also served as Osage County, KS Treasurer during which time I endeavored to collect taxes levied while maintaining fiscal responsibility for office operations. I pursued delinquent taxation on personal property and real estate property which had gone uncollected for over 10 years. I am an advocate for children born and unborn. I have voted for numerous bills of pro-life legislation. I support the right to bear arms by voting and advocating for legislation protecting those rights such as concealed carry bills.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have served in the Kansas House of Representatives for 10 year, 2 of which were service in a leadership role as House Majority Leader.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No . . . I have never been convicted of a felony.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I have a record of putting people first, standing strong on principle, and working to make certain government is smart, lean and responsive to the real needs of it citizens. I know the value of leading by listening, finding consensus without compromising key values, and building trust through transparency. I value the public trust and I know how to tell the truth.

Judicial Philosophy

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Neutral

2nd Amendment

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Gun ownership restrictions must be carefully constructed so as not to take from the Liberty we have in this country. Citizens have the right to own and bear arms.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Neutral

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Local government elected officials in the offices of County Clerk and County Treasurer need to have antiquated legislation that is over burdensome and does not accomplish a goal once needed . . . removed or revamped. Repealer legislation after review of local government elected responsibilities and processes. The tax foreclosure process needs to be updated to include innovative ways of folding in electronic information for locating the addresses of taxpayers and therefore the taxpayers themselves. Term Limits of 6-2 year terms in the Kansas House and 3-4 year terms in the Kansas Senate. Serving in both Houses would be allowed.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is a threat to public safety in the US. Therefore, it must be addressed in a way that public safety, the number#1 role of govenment, is kept intact and is in effect. Racism is a threat to the foundations of our Constitution and liberty. Our security as a country is threateded whenever there is unjust and unequal treatment of citizens according to the Constitional founding principles.
