Questionnaire

Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I believe that life begins at conception.

Economy

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

On a national level, stop giving money to countries that hate us. On a state level, our budget must be balanced before it is passed.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Keep politics out of church. A church is a place to worship. It should not be political.

Healthcare

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

More regulations, overburdening bureaucracy and limiting personal decisions between doctors and patients have decreased the level of care and made medical costs skyrocket. Struggling with overwhelming medical bills when discussing treatment options is very personal to me and my family. I will fight hard for you, just as I have for my own family, to have healthcare access and limit expenses. We should have healthcare choices. More competition across state lines and allowing access to patients in making decisions on costs and competition among providers is key.I have been a fighter for health care and working for those who need it the most. In October 2009, I was awarded the Shining Scalpel Award from the Association of American Physicians & Surgeons. This award had only been awarded 3 previous times in the 67 year history of AAPS. I have continued this work over the last 11 years from Washington, DC, Georgia, and our local community. Affordability and accessibility are a priority to me.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

Immigration

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

People who apply for immigration who qualify under the laws of the United States.

Education

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Values

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a christian. My faith in God keeps me going and inspires me to move and push forward for my family and my community. Prayer is a key part of my life. Growing up my family taught me the importance of God, family, country and giving back to others. I have lived my life by those values. Giving back to the community is one of my greatest blessings. My husband and I have taught our children to do the same. Two things that I will never forget my grandparents always said was "rights right and you can't wrong it" and "my word is my bond". Those words ring true today. My goal is to live by those principles and to always do the right thing, even when it isn't easy.

Qualifications

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I believe in fiscal responsibility, limited government, and free markets. Securing our boarders and protecting our communities is very important to me.I support President Trump on making sure we secure our borders with a wall. The Fair Tax is the simplest and best way to bring about real change in our tax code that will benefit all Americans and reign in government spending.Every life matters. All humans, including the unborn, have a right to life. As a Christian, I will stand strong in defense of the innocent and protect those who cannot defend themselves. Growing up in rural Georgia, I was taught about the importance of our Constitutional right to bear arms. I have continued to be a staunch defender of the 2nd Amendment. I signed the 2nd Amendment Sanctuary County Resolution as Chairman of the Polk County Commission. As a state representative, I will continue to fight for our 2nd Amendment rights.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have been an educator for the past 25 years. Being in education has taught me so much about our community and its struggles, what our local families are facing, and what tools they have to face those challenges. In addition, I know what it is like to struggle to try and make ends meet. When my husband was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease 14 years ago, our family had to make some drastic changes just to make sure we economically made it through those challenges. I had to work two and three jobs and raise a family. Understanding what families face is key in being a good leader. In addition, I have been county commissioner since 2015. Seeing the day to day operations of our county government and what it takes to accomplish goals has taught me the value of prioritizing needs and setting goals. Serving on the Northwest GA Regional Commission and the Association of County Commissioners Board of Managers has given me insight into state and regional issues and being a proactive leader.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am a trusted conservative. I believe that my experience, proven leadership and accomplishments set me apart from anyone else in this race. My goal as a State House Representative is to be your voice at the state capital.I believe there is a disconnect between our state government and local communities. I have been a leader in working for the people since 2009. I am not afraid to stand up for what's right. Whether it be in Washington, DC, the state of GA, or our district, for many years I have been working as a servant leader. I have a proven record as a county commissioner and leader that gets things done. I will work for you and not special interests. I am not a career politician. My word is my bond, and I am committed to this community and this district. I need your vote! I ask that you keep me and my family in your prayers. Judicial Philosophy

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2nd Amendment

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I don't believe that we need more restrictions on gun ownership.

Other Important Issues

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Drug and Gang Education in schools to raise awareness for students, parents, and teachers making drug and gang prevention a top priority. Secondly, legislation that provides more assistance for mental health issues that counties are facing in GA. This should include access to beds and resources that they are not currently getting.Third, more resources to reconnect mental health and recovering addict patients back to their communities. In addition, Broadband is critical in everyday communications and ensuring the safety of our first responders. We need legislation that resolves this issue for our local community not just the Atlanta area. Drugs are destroying our community. Overdoses are rising. I will work to make sure we address these issues while continuing to stand firm on our 2nd Amendment Rights, Pro-Life, Reducing Taxes, Economic Growth, Job Creation, and Immigration.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

There is no room for racism anywhere in the United States. Our security should stand on our laws that govern us and not on race.
