Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

To save the life of the mother.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Because of the leadership of Gov. Eric Holcomb and GOP legislative leaders, the financial health of the state of Indiana is strong. The state budget is balanced, with a surplus in excess of the recommended 10 percent.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It means that government cannot prohibit the free exercise of religion. The First Amendment protects religion from government intervention.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

A good start is the effort in the 2020 Legislature by the GOP Caucus to drive down health costs by banning surprise, out-of-network billing, increasing transparency in hospital costs by providing Hoosiers with timely, health care pricing information, and by enforcing the new law that raises the age to purchase tobacco and vaping products to 21.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Those who seek to immigrate to the U.S. via the legal pathways should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am an unapologetic follower of Jesus Christ, and I rely on His Word to guide my actions and words.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Please see voting record during 2019 legislative session.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

My experience combines roles in the public, private and philanthropic sectors. I served in the GOP administrations of Gov. Bob Orr, Mayor Steve Goldsmith, and Gov. Mitch Daniels where major reforms were developed and implemented in education, economic development, government restructuring, along with major infrastructure programs, all which improved our city and state. My career started on the staff of the Legislature where I worked directly with state legislators to pass legislation. Later, I worked for Allison Transmission (a division of General Motors at the time), a global manufacturing company and on the staff of Lumina Foundation for Education focused on access to and success in post=secondary eduction. When I was elected in June 2019 to fill the vacancy of retiring Rep. Dave Frizzell, these experiences allowed me to hit the ground running and be the strong advocate that HD 93 needs and deserves.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

21 - Decisions regarding school safety and who if anyone can carry a weapon should be made at the local level with input from teachers. I am running because HD93 deserves a continuation of principled and experienced representation in the Indiana House. Through my positions at the Legislature, in the administrations of Governors Bob Orr and Mitch Daniels and with the City of Indianapolis, I bring a strong understanding of state and local government. I hit the ground running last summer because I know the process; I already have important relationships that are helping to get things done for HD93. In addition to my experience, I also share the conservative pro-life, pro-Second Amendment Republican values of HD93 constituents. They can count on me to take the right position on these and other important social issues.

Judicial Philosophy

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

2nd Amendment

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The priority should be focused on enforcing current local, state and federal gun laws.

Other Important Issues

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

In 2020, I focused on survivor benefits for families of killed-in-the-line-of-duty officers, protecting law enforcement from their personal information being disclosed, and providing more options for whistleblowers that report misuse of public funds. In 2021, I plan to: 1) seek funding for local projects needed to address traffic shifts due to new I-69 construction; 2) maximize job creation opportunities along new I-69 corridor; 3) protect the state's financial health.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

International terrorism is the greatest threat to security in the United States.
