Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion-on-demand should not be allowed under any circumstances. America has allowed more than 60 million-plus babies to be murdered in the womb since Roe v. Wade came down in 1973, roughly a third of these (an estimated 20 million-plus based upon information published in the last year) were African-American babies. Abortion-on-demand is not only an abomination to God, and against civilized moral standards, but it is economic suicide to any nation. We can no longer try to ride the middle of the road on this issue. A country can not be concerned about infant mortality AND support abortion-on-demand. Roe v. Wade must go, at both the court level and the legislative level.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

CUT foreign aid, and earmark some of those funds for the Social Security system. Further, pursue, prosecute and recover funds that have been lost to the system by wasteful and fraudulent means. Also, put up a sign on Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid marked KEEP OUT to ANY Congressional 'borrowing' or 'transfers'. Lastly, eliminate some of the programs that do NOT go along with the original intent of Social Security, and bring such original intent BACK into congressional focus. 'Sunset' programs that have become wasteful.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

1. Cutting foreign aid. 2. Sunset needless/outdated federal regulation and agencies. 3. Go through existing government programs and cut wasteful ones. 4. Go after federal waste and fraud and offer a bounty for those of the public who know where such waste and fraud are taking place and report it. 5. Continue to cut monies to the United Nations. 6. Continue to cut funds to NATO 7. Eliminate the U.S.Department of Education, or other federal agencies that have outlived their usefulness.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

None. I worked my way through college, for a good chunk of my college experience. I had no student loans. As I used to tell my students, in the times where I served as a Teacher or Instructor, your grades are your passport to scholarships and grants. Get good grades and the institutions will pay for you to attend their schools. The rest is based upon prayer and hard work. Loans are a LAST resort--if at all.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

My response to this is a quote I developed as an anti-gang trainer and consultant to law enforcement, non-law enforcement and ministries: "There is NO separation of church and state--in the streets!" In short, many have taken this one line, cited by one of the founders, in one letter, and have twisted it out of context in our courts and society. The Constitution gives us freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Eliminate those rules and regulations that make such insurance inadequate and out of reach in terms of cost. We need to go back to what worked in earlier years. For example: When I first started working in my field of broadcasting as a re-write man, at minimum wage I could get covered with major medical insurance by my employer as a standard benefit. Sadly, because government has gotten more involved, costs have gone up, and small businesses and small companies no longer can afford such insurance at a low cost for their employees. It is time for government to get out of the way, let the market handle the task, and ONLY be involved with keeping an eye on waste and fraud by insurance companies. Furthermore, there are already great private initiatives for healthcare access. In my area, the Jane Pauley organization has clinics and health care services on a sliding scale. I'm sure such other organizations exist privately around the country.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Maintain vigilance, strong borders, enforce and strengthen immigration laws, maintain a strong military presence, maintain a strong law enforcement presence at the local, state, and federal levels. Cut of funding to, and impose economic sanctions upon any nation which supports such terrorism. Also eliminate 'gun free zones', and pass a federal law to allow for a national conceal carry permit for individuals in all 50 states. Terrorists love to attack where perceived weaknesses exist. House all apprehended terrorists at GITMO, and try them under the military tribunal method.

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

I agree with President Donald J. Trump that immigration should be based upon merit. I also believe that H 1 B Visas should be limited, as there are AMERICANS who are skilled to be employed by various companies needing highly skilled workers. American companies, businesses and corporations have been 'cutting' Americans from jobs and flying in lower-paid H 1 B Visa recipients to work in hospitals, schools, IT firms, etc. OVER available American workers for a number of years. Time to END this! With Silicon Valley competition arising from BOTH Israel and Central America (Guatemala especially) foreign workers have other outlets around the world to seek work. America has a host of colleges and universities--including HBCUs--more than capable of providing skilled, IT and other high tech level workers.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

As a Christian and a Minister, it is an honor to tell others about Jesus Christ, and live a Christian life before the world, warts and all. I'm not perfect; I became a Christian later in life. I have had my share of issues and sins...but thanks be unto God for His mercy, grace and protection. There are those who may not 'like' my views, but this is America, and under the Constitution I have the right to state my views on Christ in the public square--whether or not the public square may like it. My life verse is Acts 13:52, KJV. This country was built by strong pulpits manned by strong preachers. As a sage preacher once said, before he enlisted in the Continental Army: "There comes a time to preach, and a time to fight!"

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

As a Columnist, I have written on these and other topics in print and all over the Internet under the following titles: "The Manhood Line", "The Manhood Line: Live", "The Ramey Commentaries" and "The Gang Line" among others. I have also written on a host of Christian-Based and Bible-related topics for a variety of other publications, including, and I am blessed to have a very large on-line writing footprint.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

NO and NO

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I openly welcome your prayers, as I move forward with my campaign. A quick illustration describing my humor comes from one of my former students, as he was describing me for his brother, who was about to become one of my students: "Mr. Ramey is kinda goofy, but he's all right!" IF young people are a good judge of character, why not the 'grown up' voting public? Two great quotes, among others, that I carry with me, keep me inspired. The first is: "What you allow is what will continue". I don't know who made that quote, but it is pretty straight forward. Second, Charles H. Spurgeon noted: "Bold hearted men are always called mean-spirited by cowards." I am running to serve as a Citizen Servant; NOT 'just another politician'. IF the public is going to respect Congress, Congress has to give the public something to respect. However, it is UP to Voters to filter out all the 'static' put forth by the media, and get to the polls and vote in EVERY election!

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2nd Amendment

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None. What needs to happen is more members of the public--especially in those so-called 'sanctuary cities'--should be allowed to conceal carry. Make the criminals scared of the good citizen, instead of the other way around. Further, the rights of law enforcement personnel on gun ownership MUST be protected, as they are gun owners too! I would like to see a national federal conceal carry permit, and Congress is the place to get it started.

Other Important Issues

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Strongly Disagree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Agree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Difficult to say, but I'll have to lead off with; 1) KILLING any and all remainders of the Johnson Amendment in order to free preachers and Pastors to preach and teach from the pulpit as the Lord leads without fear of IRS intrusion; 2) Introduce legislation to decrease the tax burden on stay-at-home Mothers, and; 3) Introduce legislation to allow tax credits for those families who make the choice to home school their children.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Not as much as many would seem to think that it is. However, any type of sin is a threat to all, if it is not properly dealt with at the source. Jerks can come in any color. So can heroes. The biggest threats to domestic security in the United States are a biased media, and voters--especially Christian voters--who won't let the Bible be their guide at the polls in EVERY election.
