Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Neutral

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Neutral

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion is with us whether we want it or not. That is going to be the reality whether it remains legal or becomes illegal. What I take exception to is women who use it as a means of birth control. If you are choosing to have sex, you are choosing to accept the consequences thereof. It is, after all, the way babies are made.

Economy

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

You can't. Social security is based upon an ever-growing base that pays into it. When the receiving end becomes becomes bigger than the supporting base, it becomes unsustainable. We need to acknowledge that. We need to acknowledge, too, that it is a really bad idea for the government to take up retirement plans. So the bottom line is I wouldn't attempt to guarantee them for future generations. It was a horrible idea from a horrible president and it needs to end. That being said, millions depend upon it and I would not take that away from them. So there needs to be a transition of some sort into the private sector.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

ALL OF IT! But just balancing the budget isn't enough. We need to take in more than we spend in order to pay off our debt.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

If it is your child, and you can afford to.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Neutral

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

No Answer

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

That our government cannot establish a "Church of America."

Healthcare

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Since I believe health care should be something provided by insurance companies and NOT the government, it wouldn't be my place to promote any of them over another.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Disagree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Cease and desist with all the regime changing efforts. Get troops off of foreign soil. Make it absolutely clear that if they bring their terror to U.S. soil their country of origin will be obliterated.

Immigration

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Neutral

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

The ideal immigrant would be one that comes here with the intent of becoming assimilated. One that learns English, works and becomes a productive member of society. The circumstances under which they come would be that a) we are accepting people from that country (this could vary from year to year) b) we have not yet exceeded the number of people from that country already. (Because we would have an annual quota.) I think the countries of origin would vary from year to year and certainly the number from each country would vary. Allowing immigration willy-nilly is idiotic in the extreme.

Education

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Values

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Neutral

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Neutral

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

We have a responsibility to ourselves, our family, our tribe, our nation, our planet, life and to god. That moves from the least to the greatest. When I leave this world I WILL answer to god for everything I've ever done. Golly-gee-willickers, I hope god has a sense of humor.

Qualifications

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

No Answer

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I believe it is possible to hold liberal and conservative ideas in your head without it exploding or you being a hypocrite.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No. I have never been charged with a felony and subsequently have never been convicted of one. Neither have I been penalized for sexual misconduct. I realize I probably did not have to add anything after initially stating "No," but it does ask for an explanation.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Neutral

2nd Amendment

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

There is a difference between being a gun owner and being in possession of a gun. As a broad generalization, gun owners tend to be responsible people. People that possess guns may or may not have gotten them legally and are of more concern to me. How do we deal with that? I'm open to suggestions.

Other Important Issues

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Neutral

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Strongly Agree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1) Term limits. I'd be perfectly happy spending 2 years in Congress and calling it a success if all I did was help to get term limits in the House and the Senate made into law. I needn't author or sponsor anything to have a positive experience and impact serving in this capacity. I just need to be there to vote.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is still a problem in this country but the threat as a security issue... I'm not so sure about that. If there is truly a security issue, it will be over ideology rather than race. Just listen to some of Bernie's supporters.
