Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Minimum Rape, incest, domestic violence. Additionally pregnancies that threaten the life of the mother (i.e. ectopic pregnancies, fetus is not viable according to medical doctor due to birth defects ranging from organs not developing to fetal death inutero). Women should have the dignity to follow their faith in this private and sometimes painful decision.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

It is projected that the trust fund reserve will deplete it's $2.9T reserve fund by 2035 according to federal reports as the program benefits costs will begin to exceed the program costs in 2020. 1. Tied to economic growth-work for continued stable economy that will add financial security through SSA Taxes that are tied to stong employment(ongoing). Program costs are 4.9% of gross domestic product in 2019 with expected increase to 5.9% by 2039. May require a modest payroll tax increase of 2.5-2.9% & a slight decrease in benefits for those who apply after 2020. 2. Create a combination of blended public-private 401(k) plans, similar to the military's current retirement plan where benefits are tied to both a retirement payment and 401(K). The private plan would allow workers to divert a specific retirement amount from their 401(K) to the SSA working as an inflation adjusted annuity. This will off load some acturarial and investment risk from workers to the govt.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

1. Federal acquisition regulations enforcement and modification. Currently fraud, waste, & abuse in acquisitions. 2. Reduction of government agency financial and programmatic waste (e.g. the Veterans Administration & Defense spending). 3. Development of innovative methods to examine all areas of government by agency (long term project) that will reduce expenditures while increase the quality of services to the communities and residents.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

Disability and death of the student. Parents and spouses should not be left with reminders of the death of a loved one. Disability is when an individual cannot work - 100% disabled.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

A legal concept for defining political distance between the government at all levels and the various religions in the country. The laws of this country define the legal distance required between church and state. The 1st Amendment does not permit the federal government to establish a national religion. Separation of church and state should be absolute where no Catholic Priest or Protestant Minister would tell parishioners how to run the government nor tell the parishioners who to vote for in an election. Under this doctrine the relgions have liberty that is indivisible - an action taken against one church is an action taken against all churches and religions. The doctine also states that government will not interfere in religion and religion will not interfere in government.

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

1. Encourage innovation including auto-enrollment and/or reinsurance to stabilize health insurance premiums without undercutting existing protections. Also address physician shortages by expanding the number of graduate medical education program slots. Utilization of telehealth and remote patient monitoring through digital health solutions. 2. Oppose sale of health insurance in small-group & individual markets that don't guarantee pre-existing condition protections along with coverage of essential health benefits and protections against annual & lifetime limits, and out of pocket expneses (except short term, time limited insurance of less than 3 months). 3. Innovate solutions in states, through collaboration with DHHS, that have not expanded Medicaid since the ACA. Priority would be for the uninsured and underinsured. 4. Cap public program premiums based upon household income. 5. Negotiate lower drug costs & ban drug company payments to those @pharma who make decisions(stop chronism)

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

As a soldier for life/Veteran, support the efforts to stop terrorism across the nation and globe. I was defending the nation in Germany during the German Autumn-I know first hand what can occur. The best approach is a proactive educational and international collaborative approach. That said the following are a part of the solution: 1. Collaborate with the United Nations members (NATO, etc) to work towards discuss and plan global solutions to overall terrorism. 2. Terrorist come from all backgrounds - educate the vulnerable, i.e. youth who are at risk of being indoctrinated (public policy) 3. Continue to maintain and strengthen our border security. This includes internal security - after an individual enters the nation. 4. Utilize the military to defend our borders (as we are currently) while working with Local and State law enforcement, DoD and President to create viable military and non-military intelligence responses to terrorist.

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

1. Employment based migration vs. Chain migration-Prioritize those who have needed skills to work in our economy. Example shortage of skilled labor - e.g. electricians, plumbers, construction, etc. that will help build the economy instead of cost the taxpayers. 2. Stop entry to the US based upon family members who live in the US (e.g. Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, etc). 3. Expand the H-1B high skilled visa program while eliminating the per-country cap. 4. Overhaul the existing H-2A and H-2B temporary visa worker programs 5. Provide refugee services based upon the United Nations International agreements that are tied to a modified immigration reform law and passing an immigration criminal background check. 6. Ensure that Homeland Security and ICE are fully funded to ensure internal and border security. 7. Resolve the "Dreamer" illegal immigration issue through appropriate legislation.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My belief is in God who is my spritual leader, mentor, supporter - an awesome and loving God who guides my every step in life. I use my spiritual foundation to guide my professional movements in society. As a psychological practitioner, I also ensure that I am consistently utilizing transparent and authentic leadership skills grounded in Judeo-Christian beliefs. As an Army veteran, my code of conduct has continued into my non-military life. God guides and keeps us strong so that we can create solid, transparent, and ethical leadership in political and non-political positions.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Somewhat Conservative

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

2nd Amendment

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Gun ownership is not the issue - per se. Rather, it is how a person obtains guns based upon current law. Some potential security restrictions: 1. Must pass a criminal background check. 2. Cannot have an active serious mental health issue. 3. Guns must be registered 4. Utilize federal, state, and local law enforcement to work towards decreasing illegal guns in this country (i.e. guns from cartels and criminal elements that cross our borders legally or illegally-tied to immigration policies).

Other Important Issues

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1. Defense Spending Cuts in some program areas, e.g. $411M for career transition program, that duplicate services (this one has 13 agencies involved) & modification to military sexual assault laws under UCMJ(30K assaults in 2018). This includes border security initiatives with DHS and State Department through interagency cooperation & services. 2. Social Security Administration (priority). 3. Women's rights and healthcare.(pregnancy employment protection Act strengthening, equal pay, sick leave)

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Yes the issue is a threat to domestic security. Our nation should not be divided based upon race nor ethicity. It is our similarities that bring us together not our differences. Racism adds to the division of how people interact in the community and their beliefs and values. Our nation has a long history of racism both subtle and overt that many have not forgotten. There are individuals, such as the indigenous people, who have suffered attrocities through genocide in our nation all in the effort to take land. This also applies to African Americans and other ethnicities. Bad people do bad things to good people throughout our nation's history. It is time for a change and reconciliation. Racism won't change unless people's attitudes will change.
