Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Disagree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Disagree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I would like to clarify that I will protect the freedom of all religions to practice without prosecution as long as they are operating under laws to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their followers. Abortion should be allowed under any circumstances as long as it happens before 20 weeks and after that, if the life of the mother or child is in danger an abortion should be allowed.

Economy

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Agree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Neutral

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

Currently, Social Security benefits are expected to shrink substantially. The only way we can combat this is with a higher Social Security tax, this would be relative to income. This allows us to make up the difference and when the difference is made up, taxes can level out. The issue that must be fixed is the huge gap between the number of baby boomers and the number of people who are paying into Social Security now.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Military. We spend the most on military and while I agree that it is very important, the amount that we spend is extremely high for a time when we are not in active war. These funds can go towards other programs.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

If college is deemed to be free for future generations we should have the ability to now get government assistance and taxpayer assistance to pay off existing loans. Currently, if a student needs to declare bankruptcy, all loans are forgiven except student loans. Changing that law will help those who are drowning in debt just because they wanted an education.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Disagree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Disagree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The government should not make any laws that favor one religion over the other, should not make decisions that are based on religious teachings. The decision should be made based on the law and constitution, not personal beliefs from religion.

Healthcare

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Agree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Agree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I would support Bernie Sander's plan for health care. While taxes for middle-class people will go up, they will actually be saving money because they no longer have to pay premiums and copays. This will make healthcare more affordable for everyone.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Disagree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Knowing that social media and magazines are used to recruit abroad, we should be watching out for those that target young people. Domestic Radical Islamic Terrorism is not a rampant issue but to prevent it from becoming one, we must monitor black market sales of firearms to ensure they don't fall into the hands of the wrong people. Abroad, we should stop with blind airstrikes. Killing civilians and children are pushing people into the ranks of these groups. We must continue our allyship with the surrounding affected countries and lend our aid to what they are doing. Knowing the mistakes we made that created these groups, will prevent these in the future.

Immigration

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Disagree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Disagree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Disagree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Our immigration system needs to be redone. It takes years for people to get through any type of hearing for citizenship. This makes it almost impossible for families to come here "the right way." We should be allowing anyone who wants to come here and contribute to our nation to come in and help. Without a good system that makes growth impossible.

Education

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Agree

Values

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Disagree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe that everyone has value. I am not subscribed to any religion yet I respect those who practice and believe different things. All communities have their own value and I personally try to ensure I am connected to people around me.

Qualifications

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Liberal

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

The stances outlined on my website detail what kinds of things I am willing to fight for. You can see that at www.votecampbell2020.com

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No, I have not.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am not a career politician, meaning that I am not using this to climb a political ladder. I am here because we need representatives that represent the people. I have fought my whole life for equity, the rights of others, and for equal protections. I will dedicate my time in office to ensuring this fight does not stop. We need someone in office who is willing to fight even when things get hard.

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Disagree

2nd Amendment

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Guns have become part of our country. I do not like it but I understand it. We need to have background checks, psych evals, and strict gun control laws to ensure law-abiding citizens are the only ones that can get firearms. Wait time is a small sacrifice to make in order to save the lives of fellow Americans.

Other Important Issues

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Strongly Agree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Strongly Agree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Agree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Agree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Affordable Education: Making college and trade school free through reallocation of money put towards financial assistance or limiting student loan interest rates to the same percentage as the federal interest rate. Environmental Sustainability: Fighting for the Green New Deal, sustainable food and water for all, and fighting deforestation. Universal Healthcare: Finding a way to make healthcare accessible to everyone despite income or preexisting conditions.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Yes, with marches happening that involve people flying nazi symbols, doing the nazi salute, and more, we are seeing unrest happening in our own cities. The whole world fought against these ideals and we are allowing them to brew once again in our own back yard. Fighting white supremacy, nazi ideals, and alt-right organizations will help us calm the tensions that we are seeing.
