Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Disagree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Disagree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I am not just pro-choice. I am pro-heart-transplant, pro-blood-transfusions, pro-cancer-treatment, and yes, pro-abortion. And if anyone is shy about saying they are pro-abortion, they have no place in our government. The time for half-hearted support of women’s rights was the 18th century. I support women, unequivocally.

Economy

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Agree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

We need to fully fund and repay our social security fund for the money borrowed from it by other programs. We need to expand benefits and work to lower the retirement age. We also need to ensure that Social Security provides a living retirement for those that need it.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I would seek to end subsidies for oil companies and other large corporations and stop the tax-spending that only supports our ultra-rich.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

We should pay off all of the student loans. It is a debt crisis that not just effects those individuals put is putting our entire economy at risk. Let's fix this.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Disagree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The separation of church and state, ensuring our nation is secular, protects both the state and the church. It is a cornerstone of American democracy.

Healthcare

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Agree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Agree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Universal healthcare is a moral imperative. We should take care of the sick and injured. With that in mind, the system we have created is a failure. We are paying twice as much as every other country, with worse health outcomes and millions without coverage. Medicare for All would eliminate these problems and save America billions of dollars. It's the only moral and rational course of action.

National Security

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Disagree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

The United States is a secular nation that should welcome all religions. Terrorism in the United States is largely perpetrated by white supremacists. To end their terrorism, we must force them out from our communities. We must not give safe harbor in our churches, mosques, or temples for ethno-nationalism.

Immigration

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Disagree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Disagree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

We're in a labor shortage. We have a lot of empty space in America and room for plenty of more people. The globe is facing a crisis of mass migration, largely due to climate change. We should welcome every neighbor and stranger that wants to come, and together we can build a stronger America.

Education

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Agree

Values

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Neutral

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in the power of moral people to accomplish great things. I worship good works, and I expect anyone truly devout to fight for Justice and Peace throughout the great kingdom of the Earth.

Qualifications

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Liberal

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

https://www.JonIvy.com/platform

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I'm a progressive Republican, and I think Republicans can actually win elections if we fight for working-class Americans and stop supporting fake-Christians like Donald Trump.

Criminal Justice

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Disagree

2nd Amendment

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

We need to disarm our police and stop the arms race with criminals and terrorists. I obviously support common sense measures like background checks and assault rifle bans. But we need to further look at our arms sales to other nations and work to stop gun manufacturers fr bribing Congress members.

Other Important Issues

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Strongly Agree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Strongly Agree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Agree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Agree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1. Voting Rights and Election Security 2. National Security 3. Consumer Protection

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Yes. White supremacy and terrorism is causing death, destruction, and mayhem throughout the country. We must fight it. Also, systemic racism has resulted in mass incarceration. Putting so many of us in prison is obviously not very good for our "security."
