Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
In the incredibly rare occasion that carrying a pregnancy to full term might cause death or great harm to the mother.
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
We are at near full employment now. If the the question is how to increase income for average workers, the answer is to foster a climate that increases the profitability of starting and operating businesses, large and small. By removing barriers to operate and grow companies and halting the confiscatory tax policies that make it tough to compete globally, American industry can flourish. The policies of the current president is showing this to be true.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
That is a tough one. It may be better to ask, what should government "not do" in order to boost the economy? The period of the greatest growth for the American economy came at a time when there was very little government involvement in it. That seems to indicate that if the only desire is boosting the economy, the ideal answer would be no government role. We all know this is unrealistic. Government has to play an oversight role in the public interest regarding safety and the environment, but this should be a minimal role. American business works best when the innovative spirit is allowed to flourish and the shackles of government regulation are kept to a level that provides sufficient oversight and supports a level playing field in the international marketplace.
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Healthcare is the only industry that comes to mind in which the consumer is oblivious to the actual cost. By returning the competitive free market pressures to the industry, it can be improved. The current problem is that there is no incentive to keep costs down because typically, we don't think we "pay" for medicines and doctors visits. We have become acclimated to a system where we contract for healthcare through an insurance company and we rely on them to control costs. They typically don't and if they do, they are the benefactor, not the consumer. A better system would provide an incentive for people to seek doctors and services that are the best value and then return the savings to the consumer. Doing this in conjunction with high deductible options would provide affordable services and expand coverage for all Americans. Another important aspect has to be to curtail the trial lawyers.
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Tuition-free public education should be guaranteed through college.
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.
Parents should be the primary authority in decisions affecting their minor children.
The LGBTQ+ political agenda poses a threat to First Amendment freedoms of speech, expression and religious exercise.
I support expanding protections in employment and accommodations based on sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
If children are given instruction in sex education in public schools, it should not express a preference for abstinence but should be comprehensive, offering discussions on various types of sexual orientations and behaviors plus all types of contraceptives.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
A wisdom as to the nature of man and the potential for a changing view of freedoms relative to the state. "We hold these truths to be self-evident...endowed by our creator..." In other words, the will and desires of man is to be unable to affect, alter or remove these.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
God created a world of perfection and placed imperfect man in its midst to cultivate it and care for it...and one another. Man chose to do otherwise and sin entered God's perfect creation bringing chaos and disorder. A God of infinite love didn't leave it there, providing perfect atonement for sin and restoration to Him through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God in the flesh...salvation being offered then to all who would confess Christ as Lord and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead.
I voted in these elections:
2012 Primary, 2012 General Election, 2014 Primary, 2014 General Election, 2016 Primary, 2016 General Election, 2018 Primary, 2018 General Election
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
The word "Conservative" implies a conservation of the framers intent with respect to the constitution. Liberal on the other hand implies a "liberal" or loose interpretation of the framers intent and indicates therefore that the document is fluid and changing to fit the times. I subscribe to the former. If one desires to deviate from the original intent, then they should work to change the constitution. There is a mechanism to do that. Otherwise, leave it alone. It is the longest lasting and most survivable document defining the structure of government in the world. It so robust because it was so well drafted. I believe our posterity is best served by leaving it in tact for future generations.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I have always been of the opinion that experience is over-rated in public service. I think the most important things are a desire to be of service to your fellow man, to have a heart for service and to truly care about the direction of your country and the condition of the nation you will leave to your children. I do not sell my legislative experience short, as a leader in the legislative process at the municipal level, but I think a greater attribute is a willingness to consider others as more important than oneself...even those who may not agree with you all the time. I am not sure if education or experience have much to do with it. I will boldly represent my constituents in all matters with an aggressive platform of reform in areas that will make our state a better place to live, work and raise a family and do so with sound biblical principles.
E-mail address and phone number for voters to reach you:
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am NOT running as the anointed successor who is seeking a position that is my birthright. I am not trying to be the newest member of a cool club. I am going to be the most aggressive author of legislation in the State House. I will hit the ground running with laws drafted to change the nature of taxes, regulation, drainage and infrastructure, civil court proceedings and tort law as well as social and civic policy. District 71 will be the most Pro-Family, Pro-Freedom, Pro-Growth, Pro-Louisiana seat in the entire Louisiana Legislature. Also, to clarify my answer to survey statement "Parents should be the primary authority in decisions affecting their minor children", the reason I do not "strongly agree" is that I will draft a law making it illegal for a parent to choose or to allow gender modification surgery or hormone treatment on a child before the age of legal consent.
I support the death penalty.
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
More restrictive gun control is needed to protect public safety.
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Gambling should be limited to existing forms and should not be de-regulated or expanded.
