Questionnaire

Please note: Responses are entered electronically by the candidate and are listed verbatim.

Right to Life

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I do not support abortion, as I am Pro Life; however, if the mother or child's life is at risk, the medical staff needs to have a conversation with the family. I can't imagine the difficulty in having to make a decision like this could be.

Economy

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.

Strongly Agree

Socialism provides a robust foundation for a stable economy.

Strongly Disagree

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

In Mississippi, we need to make sure the jobs that are available are known to those seeking employment. I feel there will always be a small percentage who never want to be employed; yet, there are many more seeking work. If people do not know about available jobs, they can not apply for them. I also believe if we educate our residents for the jobs we have, we can help lower the unemployment rate.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Running for a state office, there should be ways of allowing new businesses to enter the state that we offer some tax incentives to help them get established. In the long run, those businesses will help foster and bolster economic growth. The government, at all levels, should work hard to be fiscally responsible and to live within their means. It would be great to see taxes lowered for citizens and everyone should pay their fair share.

Religious Liberty

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or business owners because of their deeply held religious beliefs.

Strongly Agree

Governments should not penalize those who define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

Healthcare

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Healthcare should be affordable and people should not be forced to have it. There are many people who are paying for high amounts for insurance. Then there are others who get assistance with their medical costs who may not even be trying to work. I certainly do not believe the answer is universal health care in a socialist type system.

National Security

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

I support sanctuary cities.

Strongly Disagree

Islamic law (Sharia) should take precedence over national and state laws where there are Islamic majority communities in the U. S.

Strongly Disagree

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

Education

Tuition-free public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Values

Biblical values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

Any teaching to children on sex education in public schools must include all contraceptive methods, and should not show preference to abstinence.

Strongly Disagree

People should be allowed to use public restrooms, showers, and changing rooms based on "gender identity."

Strongly Disagree

Free speech is under attack on public university and college campuses.

Agree

Parents should be the primary authority in decisions affecting their minor children.

Strongly Agree

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

They knew you have to have powers balanced and separated so that no one branch becomes more powerful than another.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My spiritual life is of extreme importance to me as I am both a United Methodist church pastor and National Guard military chaplain. I am a staunch traditionalist and believe strongly in God's Word. I am a very conservative person with strong family values. My faith is important to me and it drives what I do.

Qualifications

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Although I have not held office and voted on issues yet, as a preacher I have preached sermons and written articles that my conservative beliefs are obvious.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

As a leader in the church, military and service organizations, I have the knowledge, experience and skills to be an effective Representative. My undergraduate degree is in Political Science and my graduate degrees are theology centered. I have also completed military schools as well. All of this education came with study and applying myself to graduating. I also have the passion and character to serve people and be someone the voters can be proud of. I believe if you always remember who you are, where you came from and what you represent it will guide you down the right paths.

E-mail address and phone number for voters to reach you:

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I believe that you should always do what is right, not necessarily what is popular. I will vote my district, first and foremost! I will not do anything to undermine or take for the granted the trust that is placed in me by the voters.

Criminal Justice

I support the death penalty.

Strongly Agree

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2nd Amendment

More restrictive gun control is needed to protect public safety.

Strongly Disagree

Other Important Issues

Strongly Disagree
