Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.
More restrictive gun control is needed to protect public safety.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Additional regulations are needed to prevent climate change.
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
The United States should help defend Israel from attack by its enemies.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments.
Islamic law (Sharia) should take precedence over national and state laws where there are Islamic majority communities in the U. S.
Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.
People should be allowed to use public restrooms, showers, and changing rooms based on "gender identity."
I support sanctuary cities.
It is OK for Congress to exempt itself from compliance with laws applicable to all citizens.
I support the death penalty.
Tuition-free public education should be guaranteed through college.
The United States should protect its sovereignty from the United Nations.
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

2010 General Election, 2010 Republican Primary, 2012 General Election, 2012 Republican Primary, 2014 General Election, 2014 Republican Primary, 2016 General Election, 2016 Republican Primary
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I am staunchly pro-life and do not support abortion. According to St. Joseph’s Pregnancy Resource Clinic, 0.1% of abortions in the United States since 2012 were performed to save the life of the mother and I would not support expanding the circumstances under which they are performed.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
To maintain peace here at home, I am a firm believer in the policy of “peace through strength.” In addition to a robust military force, we must also have control of our Nation’s borders. These are the two most fundamental principles of national security that we must not compromise on if we are to defend against this threat.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Our Founders would most certainly agree with the sentiments conveyed by Lord Acton when he wrote: “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely…” By dividing the powers of government, our Founders ingeniously devised a system that would mitigate the threat posed by the ambition of any one man or woman.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
First and foremost, I am a Christian. I believe that each of us is a child of the same God and that He loves us. As God’s children, we are endowed by Him with rights that are as natural and necessary to the human soul as breathing is to the human body. Our natural rights cannot be granted to us by government, as they are not a government’s to give. Ultimately, the duty of our governments is to protect these inherent rights by ensuring that each of us are free to live and fulfill the measure of our creation.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
Ratings by Conservative Watchdog Groups: Club for Growth: 100% (the only U.S. Representative to receive this rating) FreedomWorks: 100% (only 4 U.S. Representatives received this rating) Americans for Prosperity: 100% American Conservative Union: 93% Heritage Action: 92%
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Lower costs and higher quality care are not mutually exclusive. Unfortunately, we have seen that increased government intrusion has not led to better outcomes and has only served to increase distortions in the marketplace. To combat the issues we face, we must repeal Obamacare in its entirety. I have and will continue to push for more freedom and less regulatory red tape to finally bring relief to providers and patients alike. Our physicians are the most dedicated and skilled in the world, and I believe that they know how to care for their patients better than any bureaucrat does. The sooner the doctor/patient relationship begins to look less like the result of a system and more like a personal relationship, the better off we’ll be.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
In a free market system, I do not believe that the government should have a direct role in “boosting” the economy, just as I do not believe that the government ought to have a role in destroying it. I do believe that the government’s role is to protect the rights and property of the people it serves. With the peace and confidence this security brings, individuals are free to build businesses, produce goods, and generally transact to the benefit of all. Recognizing the threats to economic freedom that we face today, I believe that government must “get out of the way” and stop regulating and taxing America’s producers into oblivion. As we do this, we will see the boost to our economy that so many Americans have been longing for.
What changes should be made to the tax code?
At well over 70,000 pages, our tax code should undergo a process not unlike the one experienced by the Incredible Shrinking Man. Our current tax code is far too large and should be simplified to the point where most Americans can do their taxes on a postcard.
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
The best way to bring down unemployment is to allow the free market to work. It is clear that in order to maximize economic freedom and prosperity, we must continue to pass policies that reduce the tax and regulatory burden on families and businesses. As we do so, we will get the government out of the business of “picking winners and losers” and restore the confidence of the American people.
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
We must keep the promises made to those who currently or will soon rely on Social Security for their retirement. Recently, the Social Security Board of Trustees projected that the Social Security “trust fund” will run out of cash reserves by 2034. This is especially sobering when we consider our Nation’s enormous debt load of $21 trillion and the fact that the funds which pay these benefits are taken from the general fund. When we consider the state of our Nation’s finances, one thing is clear: the government should not be trusted with such a large portion of the American people’s retirement funds. With our national debt now exceeding our GDP, we must ensure that Americans are not forced to turn over their hard-earned savings to bail out big-spending politicians. As we increase the freedom of individuals to determine how and where they will save their own money, we will better protect future generations from suffering the crushing effects of austerity and uncertainty.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
The trust that my constituents placed in me to represent them is the greatest qualification one could ask for. Since my election, I have worked to remain worthy of that trust by fulfilling each of my campaign promises and doing exactly what I was sent to Washington, D.C. to do. My voting record is a record of promises kept to my constituents. They elected me to ensure our national security, secure our Nation’s borders, cut taxes and regulation, shrink the size government, cut wasteful spending, reduce the deficit, balance the federal budget, repeal Obamacare and replace it with a free-market system, return education policy to the states, and restore accountability in Washington, D.C. My voting record will continue to be a record of promises kept and I will not stop fighting to ensure that my constituents are heard in our Nation’s Capital.
