Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

As an advocate for small government, I feel abortion should be a decision left to be made by the stakeholders involved and not legislators. While I do not personally agree with the practice of abortion, I don't believe it is acceptable intervene in decisions women make regarding their bodies and health.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The nature of mankind to have a tendency towards tyranny makes the inclusion of separation of powers necessary for America's Founders. Ensuring all branches of government can be held accountable and checked by the others has made America the pinnacle of Democracy.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was born and raised in a Catholic family, and received a Catholic education through my sophomore year of high school. This helped to instill values in me that largely dictate who I am today. Like others, my relationship with God and my religious practice has not always been perfect; but charity, acting as a servant for others, and the importance of giving back to the community are values my religion has instilled in me that I have always cherished.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Tax reform and eliminating unneeded regulation on small businesses are the most effective ways to bring down unemployment. Florida is the only state in the country that charges a tax on property leased for commercial use, and reducing or eliminating this tax is just one way we can free up businesses to use that money to invest in human capital.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Ensuring that all Floridians have access to affordable healthcare coverage would be a top priority for me in the Florida legislature, but this must be done in a fiscally responsible manner. Expanding Medicare to as many Floridians as possible and incentivizing small businesses to provide coverage would be effective ways to bring down the current number of Floridians without access to affordable healthcare.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Government should aid in boosting the economy by ensuring that a stable environment exists in order for individuals to have confidence to participate in transactions and that their investments will hold value. Governments should also protect consumers by regulating industries only when necessary, and intervene when economic downturn is imminent and unavoidable. Government spending should not be considered the primary mechanism to induce economic growth.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

As a lifelong resident of District 98, I am uniquely positioned to represent our community in Tallahassee and advocate for the values that matter to my constituents. The needs of my community will come before my personal interests or my party affiliation, and I will make it a point that all residents of district 98 feel they have a representative who fights for them in the State Legislature.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am a 21 year old senior at Florida Atlantic University, and I think it is time to shake up the status quo in our political process. We must prioritize electing leaders that view politics as a public service rather than a personal achievement. If elected, I will act independently and hear the needs of all residents of my district regardless of party affiliation. I have pledged to donate the allotted salary for the State Representative position to initiatives and charities within my district to expand the impact I will make, and hope the voters give me the opportunity to be their representative and improve our community.
