I voted in these primaries and general elections:

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I am a Pro-Life Catholic who follows the teachings of my faith. I am also an educator who believes fully in science. I would never come between a woman and her physician when it comes to life of the mother, viability of the fetus, rape or incest. That being said, I also feel a frank discussion is needed, aside from all the political banter, because ultimately, each of these decisions must take into consideration, the decision of the woman who is indeed granted Constitutional protections against tyranny. It's too bad we don't have leaders willing to sit down and have those discussions without considering their own re-elections.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Stop creating enemies around the world. We should immediately cease fire in parts of the world that don't want us there and that we have made so much more unstable. Ultimately, we must consider that terrorism of any kind is an ideology and you cannot defeat an ideology with bombs, you can only defeat it by educating it out. It is just too convenient for the bomb-makers that terrorism, like any other ideology or intangible concept, has no end, therefore bombs will always be profitable from countries willing to drop them.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

They were fighting against Tyranny. Tyranny of any kind must not be tolerated. It is no less a threat in modern day America than it was 240 years ago. The separation was genius in that when one rose up, there were two to defeat it. Unfortunately, those in Congress appear to have never read the Constitution and couldn't apply its wisdom as their obligations.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Roman Catholic. I still attend mass almost every Sunday. I will continue to honor my Pope, despite the attacks. And I will always, regardless of popular opinion, respect all other religions and their practitioners because that is what Religions Liberty is really about.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Moderate

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

With all due respect, both parties and both extreme ideologies have all but ruined a perfectly good Democratic Republic. While some of my views might be considered Conservative to some, others could be seen as quite Liberal. In fact, I reject the spectrum. I will stand where I've stood much of my adult life and say, we must do better by future generations. When the whole thing is but a faded memory, those of us who chose not to be defined politically as anything other than public servants with respect for all of the public, will be the real American Leaders.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

The Public Option. It is the only way to promote true free-market solutions. No start-up healthcare company or drug manufacture could possibly compete with today's super-consolidated behemoths. Creating a public option modeled after Tri-Care, an option with the bargaining power of the federal government, is the only way to drive down costs, increase options and guarantee a nation as great as ours has a healthy, productive population. We deserve it.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Incentivize job growth through cuts in labor costs (taxes) and offer tax incentives to companies paying better, offering benefits and training and buying domestically. Putting money in working class people's pockets stimulates spending which in turn drives demand for more production which means more need for workers. All this creates a virtuous cycle that will super-charge the US Economy.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

Lots: all loopholes, deductions and gimmicks must be removed. Every tax incentive must be approved through legislation and must sunset after five years. Great programs with proven outcomes can be renewed but only by a majority vote in Congress.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Drive demand for American made products. Invest massive sums of money into infrastructure projects. Create a better educated workforce for all future employment opportunities. Stop the hemorrhaging of domestic jobs to foreign lands because those in Congress lacked the political will to do their jobs.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

Stop raiding it (see Reagan in the 80s). Put it all in a lock-box that dirty politicians cannot access. Raise the cap on contributions. Elect leaders who serve the people, not the donors.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I'm a genuine ag producer (farmer) from the first district. I'm a combat veteran who sere bravely in the US Army. I'm a lifelong educator who will advocate for all, not just my donors.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

Twice, the political elite has approached my with offers of 'success' so long as I was willing to sell out to them. Both times, I turned them down and tore up their 'Loyalty Pledges'. If I could turn down Speaker John Boehner and the US Chamber of Commerce, voters should know that I am loyal to the voters of Kansas and the voters only.
