Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I personally am Pro Life and wish no one to need or want of this procedure. At that same time I do believe that the 10th Amendment places the states in power of all not defined within our Constitution. The states should have the ability to out law the procedure completely without any objection from the court system, and the states should have the ability to place laws on the procedure if the state allows the procedure. The Constitution does not mention murder, therefore I do not think we can pass a law to prohibit an abortion. I do believe that the states should handle this issue individually as the power of the 10th gives them the ability. As far as the circumstances, I believe that the procedure should be used when saving the life of the mother. In the circumstance of rape, I understand the want that a woman may have for the procedure and I would support her decision. Those are the two thoughts I have when it comes to the question of "under what circumstances."

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

As a nation of freedom, we attract a dislike of leaders who believe in the limitation of freedoms. We should never lose our freedoms. Limiting internet, monitoring phones, force reporting of bank transactions are all unconstitutional in my opinion. Losing freedom for protection is just as the same as taking apart our history and our Constitution. We must stop these acts. Sending our troops over to suffer the life of war is no answer either. The War on Terror has been began after the World Trade Towers fell seventeen years ago. A whole generation of people in the Middle East only knows the U.S. as the country who destroys. Save of troops the hell of war and our country the money. Become non dependent on their resources. End all trade with countries that do not support our human rights. Teach them the history of their countries before the Islamic brotherhood came to power across the nations. Fight the battles of equal and civil rights. Help a whole generation change their futures.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The knowing of being ruled by a man from across the Atlantic who could dictate another man's life without any debate. The Founders understood that if one branch had the ability to become the ruling branch, the whole system would fail. Placing Checks and Balances into our system allows that no single branch could take too much power. If one branch attempts, then one of the other two can stop the abuse of power. Thankfully the Founders were people of great foresight and our system continues.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Being of a Christian mother and father who was told to believe in Christ, I too was told to believe in Christ. Being different from my siblings and parents, I questioned the notes of the lord pass down to me through my parents, grand parents, and pastors. I wanted answers that made more sense than "Because it is in the Bible." I questioned every word, I wanted answers to every story. I want to know what is missing. I wanted to know if the story is meant to be used as a metaphor and is it exact truth. I sought answers from my own life. Learning that when asking, the answer comes. It is not an easy task receiving the answer. Once answered, you never have to question it again. I have always believed. I have and will lose my path from time to time. I am not perfect, nor am I to be perfect or make such claims. I act on my will with His grace, sometimes good and sometimes foolish. I value the lessons I have been taught from my own questions. I respect other faiths and ask only for education

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Very Conservative, I believe that the government should not limit your freedom, mandate your health and wealth, or overreach into your pocket. The role of government should be only to keep the Republic whole. A persons choice should be their own and the consequence as well. We do not need a daily protector. The business of government should be only to keep the Republic strong. Spending should be held accountable to ensure any funds spent were needed. I support a strong military. I support agencies for the well being of the people such as CDC and NHTSA. I do not support the spending of our funds on other countries, welfare for all, health care for all, or any other socialist ideas. Conservative behaviors are not taught, they must be learned. You can teach the values of conservatism, but until someone has to use the skill they will never know the life. We have, on the other hand, taught people to depend on others. It has brought us high debt as a result and a generation of dependents.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Healthcare is not in the scope of the federal government to provide to the citizens, unless military. State level is the highest health care should reach and the individual states should have health laws to apply to the citizens of the states. This is a violation, in my opinion, of the Tenth Amendment. States individually have different issues when it comes to health of the people. It can be controlled at a state level much easier than from D.C. Public community hospitals can be returned to the people. Private hospitals no longer work for the federal government, and people can have a choice. (Limited by amount of Characters in answer box) The only role the federal government should have in healthcare is to ensure that our veterans are taken care of as promised. The best way to do so would be to reorganize the VA. Allow veterans to use their local hospitals and doctors. The VA is an accounting company. The VA's role should be to give approvals and issue payments.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Government does have a say in the well being of the economy. Trade agreements with neighboring nations are important to our economy. Trade agreements with every nation is not. Having agreements with other nations should be to benefit our people, our jobs, our economy. When possible that it helps the other nation, we should see it as a positive. Placing others ahead of the citizens should never occur. Roosevelt policies that help move us out the Depression were ideas with dates. Temporary issuing acts that keep the economy at float are fine, but must have expiration dates. Issuing tariffs is within the reach of the federal government and I support tariffs on goods that free trade has killed an American industry. Trade should only occur with nations that support equal and civil rights to all. I do not support taxing people's income and/or the ability to increase a tax to spread the funds through social programs.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

I am more drastic then just a change. It is my opinion that taxing a person's life is wrong. I would like to see the 16th Amendment replied by the passage of an amendment. Then the passage of an amendment to allow Congress to levy a sales tax on items purchased. The funds payable directly to the Treasury by the individual Sales and Taxes Use offices across the nation. This idea would make the IRS unnecessary, all people in the country would pay taxes to the federal government removing the idea of an illegal immigrate using taxpayers dollars, is fair across the board, removes Uncle Sam from your back pocket directly and does not tax a person from being productive. The states would still have the power to tax income, this repeal does not change any state's individual constitution. The consumption tax will have dedicated funds to ensure that programs such as social security is paid to all who have been stolen from in the previous generations, etc.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Unemployment, my opinion on employment and unemployment is that with we do next over tax opportunity then we can all have opportunity. Business cannot just open in the times of today. There once was a moment in of history when a guy just started doing something to earn a nickel and no one bother him. No one took his nickel and gave him back three pennies. A person could work their butts off until they needed a hand and decide to hire someone. Then he would pay that guy his nickel. I am not saying anyone should get a nickel for a day's work, the meaning is understandable. We could put more people back to work if we could allow more people to build and invest in companies without over taxing and mandating them into bankruptcy. Get government out of businesses. As a business owner, I have to hire people to manage people's checks because I do not have the time to figure out everyone's taxes, SS, FICA, child support, and garnishments. I am out there working for a dollar too.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

I do not want Social Security to continue pass this generation of working people. The system has failed the people due to government's mismanagement of funds that did not belong to government. The federal government does not need to be in the retirement business. I would like to see a future of independent people who can handle their own futures. The federal government has stolen from the people, I want to pay those people back. In the idea of the consumption tax that I discussed earlier, I talked about dedicated funds and this is my solution to funding SS for the people who have had their money taken by the government. We could set up a percentage that is dedicated solely to finishing out the social security contract with the people who have planned on the money as a retirement. The future generations will need to handle the retirements independently. The states and parishes (counties) could se up a citizen system if wanted. That would be completely up to the states.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

The House of Representatives was designed to be the House of the People. John Adams and the Founders wanted intention was to bring the people into government to ensure that government did not have a chance at becoming more powerful than the people. The House belongs to the Joes, Johns, and Janes of the country. I am no rich man. I am a small business owner. I worked hard to get my company going and keep it successful. My reason for running is that I love my country and I have the ability at this point in my life to go serve the people of Louisiana in Congress. It is not all about education and experience, it is about the person and how do they stand. Highly educated people or GED, if you go into office with an agenda to benefit yourself and the company you keep, then you are going for the wrong reason. I am truly going only with one agenda, the people of Louisiana. Why? Because I am one. I work hard everyday. I have no excuses for my failures, just lessons learned.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

My name is Devin Lance Graham. I love Louisiana, our history, our people, our way of life, and I want to fight to ensure our Louisiana can continue to be enjoyed by our next generations. I come from an everyday family. Raise in a single wide trailer in Prairieville by two struggling parents. This is not a sad story, there is zero pity on the life my parents afforded me. I am proud of my life. My parents still live in that same location and I next door to them. I was taught the value of hard work, the ability to stretch a dollar, and the will to stand up for yourself, your family, and your neighbor. I want to be your Representative to stand for the everyday Louisiana woman and man, to stand for our Louisiana, and our future.
