Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

I voted in these elections:

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I believe a woman has the right to decide what she does with her body up until the point it is reasonably medically believed the fetus can survive independently of its mother's body, unless the continuation of her pregnancy will mortally endanger her health. These are my views politically and in accordance with the civil liberties our forefathers intended. Personally I believe a woman should responsibly decide whether she wants and can support a child very early in a pregnancy (within a couple of months) and choose to terminate then. This, however, is a personal belief that I do not believe coincides with our founding father's belief in personal liberties so I would not support it politically. If elected I feel I am given the honor of representing all of the people in my district and should uphold the principles of our founding fathers and not necessarily my own when they differ.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

I believe we should pull back our military involvement in Islamic countries and their conflicts. This has caused a lot of hate toward the United States including but not limited to Bin Laden. Every time a bomb misses its target and kills innocent civilians we create another enemy. Who can blame them? How would you feel if your house suddenly blew up, killed your entire family and you saw a bomb fragment that said, "Made in China?" Does this mean I sympathize with terrorists? Not in the least. I have just noticed almost every major terrorist attack had its roots in our military involvement elsewhere so it seems like a common sense solution. Pull back, stop potential attacks through our intelligence agencies and remove their cause for trying to attack us. Why are we spending trillions in others' conflicts when we could better use that money to balance our own budget and our own infrastructure?

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The corruption of power. Throughout history human nature has dictated the oppression of the weak, exploitation of the poor to the benefit of the rich and powerful. Those not in power slowly have their rights and means to resist removed. We see it today in foreign countries run by dictators and in some cases even here in this country. We even have a movement to try and redefine the second amendment despite its clear intentions to give the people the power to protect themselves from oppression.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My religious beliefs are private and as Thomas Jefferson believed and wrote separate from my political views. I will say this: The most important passage in the Bible to me above all others and what I try to live my life in accordance with is: "A new commandment I give to you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another." John 13:34

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Despite my feelings on how inefficient the government is in this arena when it comes to especially the VA, I would like to see a public option for everyone that is fiscally sustainable and competes with the free enterprise health insurance system currently in place. If the government can somehow accomplish this, it would set a fair baseline for health insurance that the only reason to pay more than necessary is for better care, not higher profits for insurance companies. It's not a perfect solution, and the issue is far more complex, but it is a start. Additionally, when it comes to Obamacare, I would do this: Pick the top 3 things wrong with it and fix them. After that, the next three things. Keep going until we have something everyone can live with. Trying to completely eradicate it and start over is just dumb in my opinion and a blatant example of partisanship. That's why nothing has been done and will not be until partisanship is taken out of it.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Fair trade, educational grants for college for those who have made good grades in high school similar to our TOPS program in Louisiana, easier access to startup capital for entrepreneurs, and harsher penalties for companies hiring illegal immigrants to name a few.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

I support a flat tax in tiers based on income with NO credits, deductions, etc. Keep it simple and fair. Everyone who makes a certain amount, pays a certain amount, no exceptions. I feel the tax code is written purposely complex to give all the breaks to the upper 2%, the crumbs to the bottom 10% and stick it to the middle.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Education. Illegal immigration reform. Boosting the economy as I stated above.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

As I would my own retirement plan. Require contributions that would sustain my personal needs upon retirement and do not touch those funds for any other reason. Stop robbing social security to pay for imbalances of other fiscally irresponsible actions. It's a simple solution no one seems to want to enact.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I am over 25, and an American citizen as required by the US Constitution. I purposely ran with no party affiliation because I do not want to be beholden to any party's political agenda. I want to be able to represent the people of my district who elected me without constraint. As I have been hardwired by my experiences in the Navy and a volunteer firefighter, I do not care what race, sex, religion, sexual orientation, etc. is to the person next to me is, but rather they are doing their part in accomplishing the goal we are trying to accomplish as a team. As American citizens we are one big team trying to accomplish the goal of creating a brighter future for ourselves and generations to come. All of our personal and physical differences should be left at the door where they belong in accomplishing that goal.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

Please, take the time to look at my website. I have taken the time to write personal and complete political statements about what I believe in and who I am. It is widely believed I have no chance at winning this election because of the political machine I am running against. If I believed that, I wouldn't be running. I believe voters win elections, not money. Please help me send a message to Washington that we have had enough and it's about the time the PEOPLE are represented by the PEOPLE, not the well connected and elite.
