Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I am pro-life. I believe that life begins at conception. That is my personal belief, and I will always do my best to protect the life and well-being of unborn children. I have also sworn an oath to protect and defend the Constitition of the United States three times in my life - as an enlisted Soldier, as a commissioned officer, and as an attorney. I take that oath very seriously, and our Constitution gives us three co-equal branches. One of these co-equal branches is the judiciary. Our Supreme Court has held that a woman in this country has the right to have an abortion up until a certain time in her pregnancy. While I am pro-life, I do recognize the current rule of law in our country.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Simple: Find the enemy and destroy the threat. As a Congressman, I will work tirelessly to ensure that our brave men and women in our military and intelligence agencies have the resources they need to lawfully fight terrorism on any front.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

I do not know, but I am thankful that they did. Our Founders were brilliant. They gave us three separate - but equal - branches of government. Our Founders also designed the federal government to be a government of limited power. Had they foreseen our federal government growing to the size that it has grown, they may have put even more checks, balances, and limitations. As a Congressman, I will advocate shrinking the size and scope of the federal government and empowering states.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian. I believe Jesus Christ died for our sins, and I believe we serve a loving and merciful God.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I support balancing the budget. I have to do it as a business owner, and so, too, should the federal government have to balance its budget. I believe in empowering states’ rights as opposed to continuously growing the size of the federal government. I believe American citizens know what is best for them as compared to the government. I believe the federal government has two federal duties: 1) to keep us safe; and 2) help ensure that our economy is flourishing. We do not need 2 million federal employees to accomplish these goals.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

There is no easy answer. I know that we cannot continue to do what we are doing now. I would like to see healthcare more accessible across state lines. I believe that taking this approach coupled with partnering with federal/state leaders and the private sector will help the healthcare industry to drive down cost.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

The federal government should take a step back. We need to make America as inviting to the business community as reasonably and safely as possible. Any regulation that is redundant or needless should be eliminated to help our business sector thrive. We are a nation of laws. I’m not advocating that we have no regulations. I will fight, however, to reduce or eliminate any regulation that is redundant or inefficient that is strangling the growth of business.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

Our tax rates are more than fair after the recent cuts. However, we must cut spending. I support keeping our tax rate as low as possible and making our economy both inviting to businesses and fair to workers. However, cutting taxes without cutting spending can be reckless. We spent too much federal dollars before the recent tax cuts, and we should cut spending even more now than ever. I support cutting spending in our federal agencies, whether we cut proportionately across the board or make specific cuts to personnel or budgetary allocation to specific agencies.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Continue policies that empower business growth. Whether we reduce/eliminate regulations that stunt the growth of business or continue to have a tax code that invites and incentivizes businesses to come to our country, I will support legislative measures that help ensure that we have a stable and strong economic engine in my district and our country.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

The biggest legislative measure that I will advocate for in this regard is to prevent Congress from dipping into the social security fund. These funds derive from monies paid into the system by hardworking Americans. The fund should not be a loan to the federal government to pay for Congress’ reckless spending habits.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have a record of doing what I say I’m going to do. I have been blessed to be a father, a husband, a Soldier, an officer in combat, a business owner, a youth football coach, and an attorney. In all of these capacities, I have had to be in a position to lead. In all of these positions, I had to deliver on the promises I made or there could be detrimental consequences. I will provide this same strong, stable, and conservative leadership to my neighbors in Louisiana’s 3rd Congressional District.

E-mail address and phone number for voters to reach you: / (337) 233-1303

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

Our district deserves to be represented by someone who actually lives in our district - someone who feels the legislation that comes out of Washington just like everyone else. I live in Youngsville with my wife and children. I’m a small business owner, a family law attorney, a youth football coach, and a proud veteran. I would be honored to serve Louisiana’s 3rd Congressional District, and I humbly ask for your vote and support.
