Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Under the 10th Amendment of the Constitution, abortion policy should be determined on the state level, not on the federal. That means Roe Versus Wade should be overturned as unconstitutional and policy making authority should be returned to the states. As a state lawmaker, I believe all human life has inherent value from the point of conception and should be protected by state law in all circumstances, except in cases where the life of the mother is at stake.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

We should engage in an America First foreign policy that recognizes the failure of past regime change and nation building experiments in Middle Eastern nations like Iran, Iraq and Libya. Each time our government has toppled a secular regime in the Middle East, the political vacuum has empowered radical Islamic groups in the region. We end this policy moving forward, seek to engage diplomatically in the region, and be ready to strike with full military force only in the event of an attack on America or our allies.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

We are all endowed with natural rights to life, liberty and property. And our government was created to protect those rights. Recognizing the corrupting effect of centralized power upon human nature, our founders sought to create clear separations of powers between, not only horizontally across the three branches of the federal government, but also vertically between Washington DC, the states and the people.
