Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

When the life of the mother is in danger and the mother has other young children.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Differentiate between Islamic terrorists and Muslims. Not all Muslims are terrorists, however most terrorists, so far, are Muslim. I believe that the Jihadists have perverted the Muslim faith. Aggressively surveil, share and act upon information with allies.Impose sanctions against nations funding and sheltering jihadist groups.Ensure that governments exist and that they treat their constituents humanely. Provide food and water to people living in unstable countries. Honor the Constitution and the concept of freedom of Religion. Outside of mosques and homes, our Constitution must be observed by all. “No go zones” must be eliminated. Sharia courts should have no legal or official recognition. Any acts authorized by Sharia that are “illegal” will be treated as “illegal”. Improve and act upon analytics from no-fly lists, FBI reports, police reports and social media.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Humans sin. We are subject to deceit, envy, greed, and the desire for power. I believe the founders were not only well read and educated, they were divinely inspired, taking into consideration the weakness of man. They recognized that rights and liberty are granted by the Creator and that the best government is derived from the consent of the governed. The result is a government that is a timeless Republic, operating within three coequal branches that have separate and discrete powers.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

The Nicene Creed is a good summation of my beliefs, the Commandments are a guide to my daily behavior, the Bible is divinely inspired and the true Word of God, recognition that daily I fall short, fall into sin, and am saved through my faith in God and Jesus.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Change to variable level catastrophic insurance policies. Allow insurance to be sold across State lines. Eliminate “networks” and worker comp policies by requiring all insurance to be accepted everywhere. Require hospitals to post actual costs. Eliminate all statements labeled “This is Not A Bill”. Require minimal sliding scale payments for everything. Establish “no show” rules for Medicaid patients. Require pharmaceuticals sold world-wide be available at a similar cost in the United States. Remove medical care rules from the TAX CODE. (There is so much more.) At the VA – end the process of “Deny, deny, deny until they die”.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Keep licensing, permitting and inspections to a bare minimum so there is an economy. Create a level playing field for all participants. Reduce or eliminate unnecessary reports. Simplify government RFPs. Stop picking winners and losers.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

Simplify, simplify. Having served on the Tax and Revenue committee in the New Mexico Legislature it was clear to me that the best tax policy is Low, Broad, Fair, Equitable, Easy to Understand, and Easy to Administer. Picking "winners and losers" via special tax treatment, undermines overall tax policy.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Make capital accessible to innovators and startups, especially in rural communities.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

Increase the age of eligibilty to 68 begining with indivuals who are 45 or younger today. Eliminate the cap on contributions. If you are earning, you are contributing. Do not allow or cast a vote in favor of borrowing against Social Security. Always remember that Social Security is NOT the government’s money.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

BA – University of New Mexico. I am a Navy wife, mom, soccer coach and entrepreneur with more than 30 years of business experience in the private sector, including 12 years as a contractor to Sandia National Labs. Served in the New Mexico House of Representatives 2003-2011, assigned to Tax & Revenue Committee and Voters & Elections Committee. Appointed to Albuquerque City Council 2013. Over 20 years serving on Neighborhood Association. President District 7 Coalition of Neighborhood Associations 2015-2017. Holding weekly public policy discussions since 2007.
