Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion is a woman's personal decision. If a woman decides to terminate a pregnancy, the reason is nobody else's business. There many medical reasons why terminating a pregnancy is necessary. Government does not belong in our bedrooms, bathrooms or bodies. I believe in firm separation of "church and state" - it is unfair to impose one's personal religious beliefs on another. Judaism believes that life begins at birth. Women must be able to access safe methods to terminate a pregnancy-period.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

It is not solely the role of the United States to eradicate radical Islamic terrorism... it is the role of every nation.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

I believe our founding fathers did the best job they could - at the time - with the resources and life experiences they had. I respect the Constitution, however, there are many aspects of our current lives and world, that the founders could never have imagined nor planned for. I do not think our founders intended for elected officials to have lengthy terms of service... and perhaps would have restricted terms (term limits).

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe the Golden Rule - treat others the way you want to be treated. I am a Reform Jew. I value life and humanity. I respect all religions. Our country was founded on religious freedom. I don't believe G-d keeps a score card on each of us. Love thy neighbor as thyself. Be loving member of humanity.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

No Answer

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I am fiscally conservative and socially moderate.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

We need a paradigm shift. Right now, health insurance does not ENSURE care. We should be paying into a healthcare system, using best practices like Kaiser Permanente or Geisinger as models. Everyone pays a low monthly rate into a health care system... then all the care is provided within that system. It contains the cost. If you notice, those two systems are not-for-profit organizations.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

The government could help boost the economy by finding ways to help and protect small businesses. Small businesses make up the foundation of our country... and they suffer the most.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

The tax code should simply be more simple - period.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

The best way to bring down unemployment is to help small businesses... perhaps more people would go into small businesses. Health insurance costs are among the biggest challenges for most employers. If we can fix health CARE, it might help with unemployment.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

Right now, I don't have the answer. However, finding a way to help seniors live in an affordable manner - including healthcare costs - it vital to our society.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I believe in citizen government - of the people, by the people and for the people. I have been a leader and volunteer since I was a young teenager. As a healthcare professional, educator, entrepreneur, scientist, volunteer, journalist, agvocate and mom - I am confident that my academic, professional and life skills make me uniquely qualified. I have served the people of NJ for over 15 yrs on the Council for Physical Fitness & Sports - appointed by three governors. I am passionate about helping others. I work hard, have a dynamic personality and am relatable.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

A vote for a candidate running Independent of a party means that we are one step closer to fixing the problems of partisan politics. I am a staunch advocate for term limits. I have signed several online term limit commitments and will honor that!
