I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

In extremely rare and compelling situations of objective, medical hardship, including to preserve the life of the mother. Otherwise only for the most extreme and compelling objective medical reasons certified by impartial doctor, and with informed consent of both parents if father can be reasonably located-- and provided the procedure is completed within ten weeks after conception. Or for cases of rape, statutory rape, or incest, provided mother or guardian gives informed consent, and procedure completed with third month of conception. Abortions should not be a "normal" option for birth control.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Increase public awareness of aggressive doctrines in mainstream Islam and the 900 year history of Islamic aggression and persecution of Jews, Christians, Hindus, and Buddhists in the Middle East, Egypt/North Africa, Spain, Eastern Europe, Iran and India between 700 AD and 1600 AD. Limit immigration from Islamic countries until mainstream Islamic leaders decisively, publicly, and effectively reject Jihad and other aggressive doctrines that justify aggression, violence, and discrimination against non-Muslims. Monitor mosques and Islamic centers for unlawful encouragement or justification of violence against others. Prevent proponents of radical Islamic terror from recruiting followers in public schools, colleges, and prisons

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Americans in 1776 had nearly 150 years of practical experience with self government. The British government took little interest in its American colonies, and collected almost no taxes. For nearly 150 years, Americans governed themselves with very little government, few laws, and very low taxes. Schools, roads, libraries, etc. were usually built by voluntary associations and donations. Americans in 1776 knew their wealth, freedom, and "boundless opportunities" resulted from limited govt.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Love thy neighbor as thyself. Do unto others, what you would have them do unto you.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I would return to what America had in 1950's when health coverage was adequate, affordable, and accessible for all. I would enforce immigration laws, and reduce legal immigration to the level of 300,000 per year we had until 1965. I would allow Americans to purchase limited "major medical" insurance to pay for medical treatment for severe illnesses and accidents. I would let people choose cheaper options that would let them pay for routine doctor visits and tests out of pocket. I would increase funding for medical schools to increase the supply of doctors, increase competition. In my opinion, this would quickly cut health care costs to the affordable levels we had in 1950's. As the son of a dentist, I know that medical and dental costs did not become so expensive until after government decided to make them "affordable".

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Low taxes and simple rules that apply equally to everyone.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

We should have low taxes and simple rules that apply equally to everyone. Right now, we have make-pretend high rates that hardly anybody pays, and lots of complicated special breaks and loopholes for the wealthiest businesses and individuals. Businesses should succeed or fail based on the quality of their products and service and their prices--not on politics and lobbyists.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

We should have low taxes and simple rules that apply equally to everyone. We should reduce the number of laws and costly lawsuits--especially "class action" and "fee shifting" lawsuits that allow lawyers to make hundreds of thousand dollar, or even million dollar fees for frivolous cases when their clients often end up with less than $50. We should make it easier and less expensive for businesses and builders to get permits.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

When social security started, most people started working at age 18. They were expected to work and pay into the system for the next 47 years and retire at age 65. Most Americans were expected to die at age 68 after collecting for 3 years. Today, most Americans start work in their mid-20's and live to ages 80 to 85. They cannot expect to work only 42 years, and collect for 15 years. Americans must again understand that they must pay or save for their own retirement, and cannot expect "someone else" to pay.
