What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

When granted whatever degree of power, people seek the most expansive expression of that power, the most minute application and the most lasting utilization; thus, the Founders knew that since human nature is so given toward the abuse of power, the Constitution must intentionally limit power vested in the government via the separation of powers between the co-equal branches of government.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

The best way to bring down unemployment is to let the market create jobs by reducing taxes, rates, and fees and hyper-regulation.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

1. Increase competition for health insurance-- both in the individual market by allowing people to purchase across state lines and in the business market by allowing business to pool/band together or join other businesses to buy insurance policies for employees, thereby driving down costs 2. Increase cost transparency so people know what healthcare/procedures costs 3. Require everyone to pay some sort of co-pays and costs of their coverage so that people understand healthcare has a cost 4. Disincentivize emergency room care for primary care services; incentivize primary care utilization

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

The best way to boost the economy is the same way that we should use to bring down unemployment: let the market create jobs by reducing taxes, rates, and fees and hyper-regulation.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

Through many challenges and joys, I have had the honor to serve our community in a variety of front line ways. I began my career as a young teacher, teaching English for years at McLane Junior High and Bloomingdale Senior High School. As an attorney and public servant, I have been a leader in protecting our elderly parents and grandparents from those who would harm or exploit them. I have volunteered my own time and money to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children in the courts of Florida. I have defended and protected crime victims as they have tried to piece their lives back together, and I have fought to protect the disabled and vulnerable in our community. Through all this, for more than 35 years, I have helped my husband as he and I built his business that has weathered the ups and downs of the economy, government regulation, and ever-increasing taxes and fees.
