Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

If either the mother or the infant will die, the mother, her family and doctor should make that choice.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Man is by nature sinful and selfish. Our Founders understood that and recognized checks and balances are necessary to avoid tyranny.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in the Triune God. I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior. By grace, God grants forgiveness and salvation to all who believe and trust in Jesus. God has put each one of us here for a purpose. Only God has the prerogative to take a life. God intended marriage to be between one man and one woman. These are the basic tenants of my faith and it is these beliefs that guide me as I address problems and make decisions.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

By growing the economy and providing the right kind of education to help people to be job ready. We should provide optional training in trades in our high school so that when our students graduate they are ready for work or for college.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

The best way to reduce costs is to increase competition. We should encourage medical practices to publish rates for common procedures, office visits, etc. Healthcare should be accessible to all so I see the need for a safety net. Healthcare is different than health insurance.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Keep spending down, reduce regulations in order to create an environment where companies can grow and thrive.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have held an executive office as Mayor of Parker, CO. I have worked with minority business people as President of the Denver Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. I have been President/CEO of the Rocky Minority Development Council where I helped put businesses together with minority owned suppliers. I was the Colorado Director of the US Small Business Administration. I have been involved in planning of roads, water issues and many more that we face in Colorado. By virtue of working with government as it works smoothly with the private sector, my experience allows me to be ready on Day One to execute the duties and responsibilities of Governor.
