Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The Founding Fathers feared that centralized executive, legislative and judicial power in the hands of a few, such as a King, would limit the freedoms and liberties of the people. Three separate but equal branches of government would be a check on each other and man-kinds thirst for power, preventing a government from becoming oppressive.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I hold American Judeo-Christian values. My support for a strong family, the protection of innocent life and belief in God as the creator is unwavering. I am guided by my personal relationship with Christ.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

In Pennsylvania we need to create a corporate tax structure that encourages business development; alleviates enormous regulatory burdens, and develop a skilled work force to meet the needs of a changing economy. Most importantly, government needs to get out of the way of job-creators.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

People need to be empowered to make their own healthcare choices. Diana supports a competitive insurance market place that gives individuals options based on their individual insurance needs.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Government should provide quality infrastructure and encourage a regulatory environment that is easy to comprehend, isn't over-bearing, intrusive, or punitive to job-creators.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

Under Diana Irey Vaughan’s leadership Washington County has enacted conservative fiscal policies that work to keep taxes low. Washington County Correctional Facility has been within the lowest cost per day of incarcerating inmates, currently ranking second lowest in Pennsylvania at a cost of $46.91 per day as compared to the state average of $123.36 The Washington County pension fund is 90% funded, with one of the lowest assumed rate of returns at 6.75%. The Washington County pension fund is among the most stable pension retirement funds in the state. In 2004 Washington County ended post-employment health insurance benefits for employees hired on of after April 2014. This eliminated an extremely costly benefit that far exceeded private sector retirement packages. Diana Irey Vaughan helped to complete the Southpointe Industrial Park development, which created over 8,000 new jobs in Washington County for middle-class families.
