Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I am pro life and believe that under no circumstances should abortion be allowed. The word of God states that we are fearfully and wonderfully made in our mothers womb. And I believe that the right to live applies to the unborn.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Our Founding Fathers had very wisely learned from history that absolute power by any one branch of government will always be corrupt. Unfortunately, people have sinful tendencies that can multiply when they are put into positions of power. The Founding Fathers took this knowledge and very brilliantly created the checks and balances of power that we enjoy today. These checks and balances have preserved our freedoms.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a born again Christian. I believe that God's son Jesus lived, died, and rose again for all mankind to give us the free gift of eternal life, if we choose to accept it. Due to these beliefs, I value every human being including the unborn and those addicted to drugs and alcohol. We all fall short of the Glory of God and are sinners. I believe that it is our responsibility as Christians to use our God-given talents to shine light in this world. That is a major part of why I have decided to seek a position in politics.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I am a Conservative Republican. I am pro-second amendment, pro-limited government, and I support capitalism. I believe in American exceptionalism and support the legal path to citizenship. In regards to social issues, I align my views with those in the Bible which I believe are everlasting truths. I understand that not all of the social views I possess align with the laws of our commonwealth and nation, and I respect that. However, if elected to this position, I will sponsor and promote legislation that aligns with my beliefs.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

We need to ensure that the state programs are effectively training the workforce to meet the need of the positions available. As I am out meeting people and visiting businesses, I see "help wanted" signs everywhere. I do not believe that we are facing a lack of job availability, but rather a lack of willing and/or qualified candidates for these jobs. I am a strong advocate of trade schools and vocational training and will actively support these programs. I also believe that fighting the drug epidemic needs to be part of the discussion on unemployment. I have heard from many small business owners that they cannot find qualified candidates that can pass a drug test. We need to work with local law enforcement to get the drugs out of our communities and make sure schools have the resources to educate our children on the dangers of drug use. And finally, I want to work with businesses to fight against any industry specific job-killing regulations that they face.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

The Affordable Care Act has proved to be anything but affordable for working families. Families in Pennsylvania have seen their premiums sky-rocket and their coverage decrease. Unfortunately this issue needs to be fixed on a national level. We need to call on our Congressmen and Senators to fight for repeal and replacement with more affordable options for the middle class.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

As I previously stated, I believe that capitalism works. Harrisburg should focus on cutting their spending and working within their means. Less taxes on families and businesses will effectively boost the economy better than any state-managed program.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have have life experience in the dairy, trucking, and building construction industries. I have owned a dairy farm, signed paychecks, and I know what it is like to work sixteen hours a day to support a family. I have firsthand knowledge of the effects that the decisions coming out of Harrisburg have on jobs, families, farming, energy and our everyday lives. I am a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Troy where I have served in leadership and through missions programs. I also serve our community through the Door of Hope Program, a support group for friends and family members of those addicted to drugs and alcohol. My wife Joanne and I are drawn to helping solve the drug crises that faces Pennsylvania and to offer support to those struggling with addiction and their families. I want to go to Harrisburg to make a change, not a career.
